Can you really list The Who at this point, with only 2 surviving members, and only one musician?

Is Tina Turner still "touring" ... I thought her last tour was the "farewell" ?

What original Mountain members are still together ? Feliz Pappalardi is long gone, RIP.

Don't forget the "Grateful Dead"...

I mean if you can accept the current versions of Mountain, the Who, etc. we can accept "The Dead" and "Phil Lesh and Friends"

Elton John was almost certainly in a band by the end of 1969 as he was really hittin' the charts in 1971 and 72.

Have the Moody Blues been listed ??

They are about as INTACT a band fromm the 60's as you'll find... and one of the best live concerts you'll ever see...

Two out of four original members isn't bad, especially when they are the singer and the guitarist/songwriter. If the singer and the guitarist were gone and the rhythm section were touring as the Who that would strike me as bogus, but I think Daltey and Townshend have a right to carry on under the name.

OhNNYA...

I don't disagree with you that they have all the right to tour as the Who... no problem there... I'm just on the borderline about whether we can consider the band to be the same band from the 1960's... I mean Keith Moon was just such an irreplacable drummer not to mention John... lose 'em both and it just doesn't seem to be any true semblance of the original band.

I so agree with you Jos. As far as I'm concerned they are the only band to ever come close to The 'early'Rolling Stones sound.Great 60's singles like Rosalyn, Midnight to six, Honey I need and what must be the most underated album in the history of music S F Sorrow .They put out some good albums in the 70's as well.....sil torpedo, parachute.....and in the 80's crosstalk. I went to see them at The Marquee when crosstalk came out, they were amazing. I even got to have a good old chat with Phil May and Dick Taylor in the bar.
I had a look on their website the other day, but it hasn't been updated lately.....I think they still do the odd tour of europe though....If I knew they were playing soon I would definatly go and see them.....
Hey Stones fans, give The Pretty Things a listen.....they are ...kin great!
