Hadn't heard it in a while.

Great one.

I have the Trident Demos and Trident mixes somewhere on vinyl.

Isn't this the sessions where MT made his debut?

Great song-there's a really good cover version by the kick-ass New Bomb Turks from Ohio.I'd post it here but don't have the computer capabilities at this time.

Love this tune... guess it's really just a jam for taylor to get his bearings. I think there are multiple versions but either I can't tell them apart or I keep hearing the same one. I loved the song so much the first time I heard it, I thought I would seek out the other versions, but I haven't. I guess then the stones might be right in thinking it wasn't quite a keeper, given the other material they had at the time.

Barbed wire rock 'n' roll in my ears.
Just pure Gold at the same time.
With a diamond sharpness.
Gotta have it in my car tomorrow morning.

From Kenos site:

Jiving Sister Fanny (Jagger/Richards)

Jiving Sister Fanny told her man of the dirty byway
Uh huh, huh huh,
She even did the favor for the man on the broad highway
Uh huh, huh huh,
She got me walkin' 'round
Then she got me going down
"Hey" said the policeman
Get me quicky out of town
Woo who child you got me walkin' down the wrong highway
Hey hey hey hey

Now Jiving Sister Fanny got the brain of a dinosaur
Uh huh, huh huh,
She took my motley Billy and she broke up my electric guitar
Uh huh, huh huh,
She got the way around,
Yes she's got me out of town
The man on the juniper
Gonna put me out of town
Ooh ooh child you got me walkin' down a broad highway
Uh huh, huh huh

Now, now, it's time thank y'all

Yeah if you got the ride boy if you got the right a way
If you ever go to bed you finally imagine how the way you play
You got the shy part
You got the red suit
A man jumping hunky
With a skull and a straddle bar
Voodoo child you got me walkin' down the broad highway
Uh huh, huh huh

Oh yeah ah ah ah

You got me walkin' 'round
Yes, you got me way around
I'm not in for a girl
That really wants to tie you down
Ooh child you got me walkin' down the broad highway

Na na na na na na na
Hey hey hey yeah yeah wah ooh
Na na na na

Next is the version released on The London Years & most pressings of the Metamorphosis album:

JIVING SISTER FANNY
(Jagger/Richards)

Jiving Sister Fanny told her man from Philadelphia Pa
Uh huh, huh, huh
He tore down the station, said she didn't like the way we played
Uh huh, huh, huh
If you got a diff'rent guy,
Bitch you better be the one
Hanging from the duties by
The cold grab you by the while
Ooh child, you've got me walking down a broad highway
Uh huh, huh, huh

Now Jiving Sister Fanny's got the brain of a dinosaur
Uh huh, huh, huh
Yeah she hocked my fancy mother
And she hocked my electric guitar
Uh huh, huh, huh
Then she's waiting in the store,
That's the way, the way to go
Now she's found the way to go,
Goodbye Charlie, get your way
Ooh child, you've got me walking down a broad highway

And-a 'come on boy, I want you to @#$%&'
Ah yeah, ooh, oh yeah come on by

Ooh child, you've got me walking down a broad highway
Uh huh, huh, huh
Yeah yeah, Jiving sister Fanny brought a man down the broad highway
Uh huh, huh, huh
Yeah she even took the question
And she didn't like the games we played
Na na na na na na
Yeah you've got my way around,
You've got me out of town
A man from Philadelphia
Forget about a public house
Ooh child, you've got me walking down a broad highway
Ooh!

Jiving Sister Fanny got the brain of a dinosaur
Yes sir, yes sir, yes sir, yes sir
Ooh ooh oh, uh huh huh huh
You've got me walking by
A man from Philadelphia
You've got me one about the famous child ....
Ooh na na uh huh huh huh huh
Come on, boy, come on, come on, come on, come on now
Yeah, yeah uh huh huh huh

I thought his debut was on the Honky tonk women session. JSF is a great track, but doesn't really fit in on Let it Bleed or Sticky Fingers.

It is really funny, all the attempts to write down the lyrics to JSF. Jagger ISN'T SINGING ANYTHNG! That's what you call vowel movement, you make up words and lines in order to find a melody.

When is the wedding Potted? Are we going to be invited for the party?

Don't ask me for advice. I will try to tell you to sit on the fence some more.

Love it. Kick ass guitars. MT steals this one. Would it work in concert?

Always loved this song. A great riff. I think it would have been fine of LIB. Also Downtown Suzie is a cool song from Metamorphisis which I could see on LIB also.

It's so very lonely, you're 2,000 Light Years from home

Tell me it wouldn't be great to see the Stones bring back Mick Taylor for their
Super Bowl gig and start the show with this number!!!!

Man would that get Detroit rocking!!!!!!

It wouldn't be great for the Stones to bring back Mick Taylor for their Super Bowl gig and start the show with this number. I don't understand the obsession with Taylor, I really don't.

Great song, but DAMN, it must be hard as hell to memorize those lyrics.

I've always loved that rock and roll shuffle chord structure.

You gotta be cool vis-a-vis this.
Taylor still plays like a God, but rocknroll is a teamwork.
And he sure not fits in visually.

(But a small secret club gig with MT... smiling smiley )

That's OK OHNONOTYOUAGAIN

If you don't "get" what Mick Taylor meant to the Stones when he was a member,
then your beyond help... Go watch the last HBO special of the Stones and
"be happy" me, I'll put on Ladies & Gentelman from 1972!!!!!
