If you want to listen to pristine guitar playing then check out taylor's boots with mayall for the period 1982 and 1984. Taylor is playing with a pick and his tone and playing is perfect . The recordings are excellent quality and it sounds like taylor's amp is right in front of you. Check out looking out for Willie on any of those boots,Mayall tells the band to take down the playing and Taylor plays so delicate and brilliant. On Have You Heard well Taylor gives a textbook guitar lesson on rock blues.Taylor is playing with a pick and is tone is so perfect. Before you guys rip this thread gain so knowledge and listen to these
recordings you might actually be surprised and like how mayall and the band deliver the rock blues.

Well, you can also just buy something legal. Like the CD Mayall put out for his 70th birthday. Taylor plays some pretty impressive solos on there. For me, he's superior to clapton.

yeah but this stuff is pristine and is some of taylor's finest work when he left the stones. Also with him in 1981 with Alvin Lee and Dylan in 1984.

There is an official CD of the Bluesbreakers tour (the DC show). It goes under various names, one of which is Return of the Bluesbreakers. There is also a 2 or 3 CD set called Rolling with the Blues that has 5 or 6 additional songs from the European leg of the tour (along with other tours and guitarists) and was put out a few years ago in England by Shattered Records. Finally, there is a DVD called Jammin With the Blues Greats (NJ show), which I believe is recently back in print.

Hey Todd. My apologies for keeping you waiting. Those Taylor boots I promised you will be in the mail tomorrow or may God himself strike me down! As to the time period Mick, er I mean Open G mentions, I was at the Stone in San Francisco for the first show that the Blues Breaks with Mick Taylor had played together in 15 years and it though it was a times sloppy (John McVie was as pissed as a newt) Mick was spot on it and it was a thrill to see have seen him for the first time. I remember hearing him riffing before the curtain came up and thought Christ, I'm about to see one of my favorite guitarists with a legendary band in a small club. It was beyond cool!
