Any fans of Marc Ribot here ?
If so, does anyone have any recordings of any of his shows ?
He is hard to find on any bt sites unless he is just a sideman for someone else.
I think he doesn't allow taping of his shows but I am not sure.

He's great .. I saw him with Tom Waits in London a year ago .. his sound is just unbelivable .. got a bootleg of that show

Never seen him solo though ...

A wonderful Ribot-assisted record is Solomon Burke - Soul Alive. Just a monster live album recorded in the early 80's. Definitely one of the top 5 live albums I've ever heard (up there with Sam Cooke at The Harlem Square Club, VU live 1969, Ya Ya's & Big Time)
I don't think I know any solo Ribot, just him with Waits mostly.

I meant to say that the only bit torrents available are when he is playing with others.

He has plenty of solo stuff.

I have most of his official releases.

I just want some live stuff.

Ribot's played on many a Waits lp....and his contributions (musically) are important to Waits' sound

Totally agree.

Waits introduced me to Ribot.

Well, not literally.

Through his music I mean.

I've got that Martin Scorsese's Blues cd "The Soul of a Man" where Ribot plays his own strange and unique version of Blind Willie Johnson's "Dark was the Night, Cold was the Ground". It sounds absolutely nothing like Johnsons, but its interesting in a very weird way.
