Rolling Stones featured in a manga
Posted by: Doc ()
Date: April 1, 2025 15:59

The RollinG Stones will be the "heroes" of a new animated series procuced by Japanese NHK.
The series will tell the story of the band and illustrate their impact on modern music, making it a great opportunity for younger generations to discover the band in a brand new way.

No release date available so far, sadly, but it looks promising !

It's made by ChatGPT AI generator, anyone can insert a photo and ask it to make it a studio Ghibli style artwork

Ok this got me for a second... Darn Aprils Fools

Also, manga =/= anime

With that being said, is anyone a fan of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure? The mangaka is a huge fan of classic rock and there are a couple of neat Stones references in the series.

glimmerest beat me to it but this as described would be an anime not a manga

manga is japanese style comics

anime is japanese style animation

and yes i'm a fan of jojo's bizarre adventure

most of the anime/manga i like is older stuff like jojo's bizarre adventure (dragon ball, dr. slump, yu yu hakusho, cowboy bebop, lupin the third, ranma 1/2 etc.)

to bad this is fake i would have loved the idea especially if they had access to there music and input from the band

would have prefered if the band members and there history was used as the basis for an over the top fictionalized version of there story as opposed to a biographical sort of thing (i dislike biography films about musicians)

first thought was i can't wait to hear keith's japanese voice actorwinking smiley

speaking of anime and the stones

cowboy bebop has a bunch of episodes with stones related names

ep. 3 honky tonk women
ep. 6 sympathy for the devil
ep. 9 jamming with edward
ep. 19 wild horses

Man that would kick ass.

I actually dreamed about Brian being a main character in an anime recently. But he was like a gentleman thief and not a musician. Very odd

might be time to revive this thread iorrwinking smiley

but yeah and since biographical films about musicians almost always exaggerate or totally make up stuff anyways they might as well just go nuts with it and use not just the stuff that really happened but the deep rich crazy vein of nonsense and myth that's been built up around them for the last 60 years (anita was a witch who practiced dark magic, keith had all his blood replaced etc.)

and bring to life the characters and events from there songs

now i love there story and histoy as it really happened but i just don't think it would be very interesting told on the big screen (or small) better to leave that to books and documentaries

i know probably an unpopular opinion
