Is there more ya ya's for a deluxe edition

If the stones could turn Get yer ya ya's out into a deluxe edition such as the Who did with live at leeds, adding the "Tommy side", what other songs were played at that NYC show and or others on the tour that would really make this cd a complete show

Does anyone know the set list played for the 69 Altamont show?

All three of the Garden shows from 1969 were recorded and filmed by the Maysels Brothers. All three were recorded from the soundboard.

Hmmmm...well...

JUMPING JACK FLASH
SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL
STRAY CAT BLUES
I'M FREE
UNDER MY THUMB
SATISFACTION
CAROL
STREET FIGHTING MAN
LITTLE QUEENIE
GIMME SHELTER
LOVE IN VAIN
MIDNIGHT RAMBLER
HONKY TONK WOMEN
LIVE WITH ME
YOU GOTTA MOVE
PRODIGAL SON
and...
BROWN SUGAR at Altamont. That only leaves 7 other songs to release besides the ones on Ya-Yas. Maybe cull some from Hyde Park? DOWN HOME GIRL? LOVING CUP?

It would be a good idea, but with whoever is in charge of releasing stuff like "Rarities" I doubt they have any way of knowing what a good idea is.

originally ,it was to be a double album, with the accompanying disc devoted to Stones supporting acts,BB King and Ike & Tina Turner, but quoting Mick Jagger ,Decca weren't interested.

Was Altamont the only show that Brown Sugar was played at on the 69 tour?

Funny but give or take a couple of songs and you have the 2005 set list. 36 years later and the song count has risen to 21.

-Satisfaction
-Prodigal Son
-You Gotta Move
-Gimme Shelter
-Brown Sugar
-The Sun Is Shining
-Under My Thumb/I'm Free (medley from MSG)

Plus the complete Sympathy For The Devil including the deleted verse "just as every cop....."

They could combine it with tracks of the 1970 European tour:

-Roll Over Beethoven
-Dead Flowers
-Let It Rock

Think this would make a great release!

But then again, they had the horn section on the 1970 tour, so it would be better with two Records. One from the '69 tour, and one from the '70 tour!
Thank's on beforehand Rolling Stones, we're all looking forward to itsmiling smiley

Hey Sicilian. Brown Sugar was played only once on the tour and that was at Altamont which as you will ahve figured happens to have been the live debut of the song. REgarding a deluxe version of Ya-Yas, as the esteemed T&A stated don't hold your breath!

The Sun is Shining is a Jimmy Reed (Honest I Do, Shame,Shame,Shame guy) song. There's a different song by the same title associated with Elmore James.

The Sicilian...... Mick says here's a new one we've never done before....this is the first time we've played it......it's called Brown Sugar...then they kick in with those raw Keith riffs....chugs along at a nice, sexy-slow pace...you can hear Mick working out his early "live" phrasing on this version...the geetars sound nice'n'nasty!!!!sounds great!!!

I believe it was Mick Taylor's call to play Brown Sugar at Altamont.
They had just come off practising it at Muscle Shoal about 50 times.....not a bad version either.

I have no idea why Satisfaction is not included on the original Ya Ya's.....it was the band's best live song on that Tour.....bewildered.

What a great setlist. Of course, if they played this today someone would say "only 15 songs, and four of them covers - I'm outraged!"

The least ABKCO can do is try to release a deluxe edition with the original 2 albums.

They should remaster the original recordings from Ya-Ya's and use the full length versions of Midnight Rambler and Sympathy For The Devil.

Then add another 3rd disc with all the extras mentioned here before.

Now Klein and Co, does this sound so difficult?
It will probably be a thing for the lawyers and managers to figure out, but hey everybody can earn a few bucks on this one. And at the end we the fans are happy too!

Well, Decca men proved to be more competent than their mates from Virgin:
London Years was a great release!

The Ya Ya's dvd, if I understand it correctly, is NOT the film of the concert, only a collection of out takes and interviews etc.

Is this dvd something that the stones have final say on the content? Or is the being produced by label people?

In this day and age anything is possible, so now that streamlined technology exists, one would think that super bands such as the Stones with plenty of capital reserves in tow and no shortage of sponsorships, would have people dedicated to just that cause, archiving and producing footage and music from shows for release to the public and fan base.

There is no excuse for the lack of material. I think nowadays the expense is minimal compared to the return.
