Nobody could deliver a line as dryly as Bob Newhart. Always liked him! May he rest in peace

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Yes, one of the all-time great comedians. Never had to rely on profanity or sex themes to make people laugh. RIP.

His riff on the discovery of tobacco is one of my all time favourites … “..And you put in your mouth and set fire to it…” all delivered with his dry, semi stammering delivery with the crowd going nuts..my god..I laughed!!!

A genuine Stone Cold classic performer.

RIP Mr Newhart.

I loved both of his comedy series (especially the first one when he played a psychologist with Suzanne Pleshette as his wife). I will always remember the finale of the second series (Newhart) in which he wakes up in bed with Emily (Pleshette) from the first sit-com series and tells her he had a nightmare that he dreamt that he was an Vermont innkeeper (that he played in the second series). This was absolutely hysterical, and according to Wikipedia that episode was chosen by TV Guide as the best finale in television history.

Always enjoyed a couple of his skits: 'An infinite number of monkeys', and 'Introducing tobacco to civilisation'. RIP.

"A day late and a Daryl short"

One of the funniest sitcom lines I've ever heard.
