Bootleg Label “Sister Morphine”

Back in late 90s/early 2000s, I picked up a bunch of releases from Sister Morphine. I think he was in California. Great gigs, superior sound quality. He seems to have disappeared. Anyone know the story?

None of the SM releases had superior sound. They were copies of well-known bootlegs, highly EQ-ed and compressed.

Shame there wasn't a volume II from Closer Than Close. That was a revelation at the time. Sorry to hear the guy passed. R.I.P.

Mr. Reeder's releases were generally copies of other boots, but he put his own paricular spin on those releases and offered a variety of titles from various eras from the Stones career. I personally had a number of positive communications with him over the years, and if there was a problem with an order, he would make good with compensating me with a replacement and additional titles that I didn't have. He had a loyal following, and, just like this particular fan site, allowed for regular, and lively discussions all things Stones related. I, and many others that i became friendly with during this time period, were saddened to hear of his passing.

I recall getting offered $1,000 for a 2002 ALD recording from Sister Morphine. Which was impressive for a young 16 year old taper, but ended up declining. So SM just sorted faded out and didn't continue, thought I heard they got raided at some point?
