Per Jagger 39 times. This tour will be 40 and 41.

True, if M. Jagger doesn't count the Checkerboard gig as a Stones gig (not all Stones members played there on stage) - with Checkerboard there are 42nd gigs in a few days...

LA is where they recorded or mixed many of their best albums.New York for their legendary shows at MSG

They did four stadium nights in Oakland in '97, then came back in '99 to play multiple nights in San Jose & Oakland again. In 2002, they played two stadium shows in SF and an arena in Oakland. Seems like Bay Area was a hot spot, although less attention in recent years.

Chicago for sure. Two nights at Soldier Field to open in '97 then an arena show in '98 and two more arena shows in '99....

For smaller markets, IDK. Columbus? Oklahoma City?

NEW YORK CITY!!! I mean both Mick and Keith lived there!

And they finished one of their best albums there : "Dirty Work"! grinning smiley

Seriously, even if they recorded most of their late-70s material in Paris, the vibe behind the music was propelled by the Big Apple, period!

Philadelphia is a city where I know quite a few fans like me live, i.e. fans who used to travel to many shows, back in the 70's and on.

Then of course NYC and LA, they could stay and play these cities every week.

Canada is not in USA, but Toronto is for sure a city where there is a high number of fans, and lots of Stones history, a judge that saved the Stones, SarsStock, rehearsals in the summer, club gigs and so on.

NYC hosted many press conferences, the city they did "Might As Well Get Juiced", "Shee Smiled Sweetly", MSG unique shows and more.

LA many album recordings and mixing, many venues played, sure a "Stones city".

Then how about Witchita, Missoula, Louisville, and in Canada cities like Regina (two shows back to back) and Moncton - there are many many Stones cities, not only in USA and Canada, but also other places in the world.
