What is Blondie's guitar style like?

Blondie is playing very limited guitar on stage. I can't hear him at all and I have tried. That Doesn't Matter, but what does his style sound like if he was on his own or moved to the front? Is he a lead man rhythym or what? Any comparions to say a Chuck Berry/KR style, a (God Forbid) Van Halen type, just a tape recorder of the song that he is reproducing or something completly different?
Go Dawgs!

in 1979 I saw him with the Butterfield/Danko band. one of the hottest bluesrock shows I've ever seen - Blondie burned down the house with sizzling leads...there are a number of quality tapes/cdrs circulating from that tour that showcase his chops. He actually kind of reminds me of Ronnie (in his prime) as a stylist.

My email account won't work right now. The system is being overwhelmed by students trying to login, but here is mine caleb_cooper@bobcat.gcsu.edu I will check this evening once people have let it "rest" a bit.

How did the Stones find him? Can he play slide as well?

nank, I'll be in touch, but might not be tonight.

I like Blondie's singing on "Sail On Sailor".

Do you teach at GCSU? or another school?

I'm a 6th grade math teacher in Wilcox County.

I am a grad student at GCSU doing cj. Sixth grade? They threw you to the wolves. HAHAHA

Sail on Sailor? I have never heard of that one. Was it his solo or with someone else?
When Blondie plays by himself or with the a non-Stones band what kind of guitar does he use?

I know he's buds with KR - not sure how far back the friendship goes or where they met. Don't recall him playing any/much slide. Speaking of slide - at the risk of starting a thread within a thread - I think Ronnie should eliminate all attempts to play anything but bottleneck. He still has a decent knack for slide (although many purists will tell you that playing slide is "cheating"). I really think he's having left-hand problems with his straight playing, but it doesn't seem to have affected the slide.

Sail on Sailor...The Beach Boys Holland album..Blondie was practically a
full fledged member of the group..

interesting theory. Extended dehydration can aggravate tendenitis (Sp) and other age/wear issues and so can improper form. Like when I type all the time on iorr.org and don't do my work.

Thanks all for input now I will do some musical research. Can anyone give me some specific album titles/recordings I should start hunting.

the Blue Note Cafe in Boulder Colorado 1979 is probably the best sounding (FM) source from that tour....

I ran into Glen Campbell once at a golf course in Nebraska. He came out to play and after dinner got out his guitar. Actually I caught him earlier in the bathroom doing voice exercises. He sang a few of his old hits, etc. out on the deck and then played requests. He is a walking music encyclopedia. If he’d run in to any kind of a snag too, he’d go back and figure it out before finishing the song. Also remember him closing the night with a nice version of Roy Orbison’s “In Dreams”, obviously a big fan. He’s a little fried but overall a nice guy and a great musician. His wife was keeping an eye on him all night.

If I'm right, he plays acoustic on "Beast of Burden" in the backround during the Licks tour, you can hear him on "Four Flicks" (First DVD), but he wasn't in the mix on the Licks version which was the same version, but edited (and shortened).
