Stones festival line-up?

Back in the day (75, 81, etc.), the band often capped off a festival type show with some great opening acts. Now, at best, the one opener is servicable. What would be your ideal festival day with 4 or 5 bands? Please be semi-realistic, in other words, people who are still alive and not superstars on their own. No Elvis, Jimi, etc. or Bruce, U2, Macca, etc.

Tinsley Ellis (blues)
BoDeans (college rock)
Steve Earle or Billy Joe Shaver (country)
Maybe the Nevilles or J. Geils
The Rolling Stones

Four opening acts in Moncton.

That's been the exception though, not the rule any more. BTW, who were they and how were they?

I wasn't there, but the openers were Maroon 5, The Tragically Hip, Les Trois Accords and Our Lady Peace.

Not a really good line-up although a couple of them are okay.

For example, in 1981 in Orlando, we got the Henry Paul (formerly of The Outlaws) Band, Van Halen, and The Stones. 1975 Jacksonville was Atlanta Rhythm Section, Rufus, J. Geils, and the Stones. That's what I'm talking about.

Sadly, those days are gone.

Yeah, the more openers, the more ways the cash must be split!

G. Mule and the Allman Bros. Band would both be great. BTW, my first concert ever was the ABB in 1975.

WIth warren haynes and derek trucks they sound the best they everyhad. God forbid it but if something happended to Ronnie and MT was not an option, I would choose Warren Haynes. Just a thought

Hey nank, are you from Georgia? Saturday night was sweet. I'm just a few miles outside of Macon. Check my last post on the "What did you have for dinner?" post. Young Trucks and WH are both excellent.

In Prague 1995, there were three bands before the Stones. Didn't know one of them but didn't care much anyway.

Sweet is an understatment! I get chills thinking about it. In life the only thing that trumps UGA is the Stones. I was at the game and I feel like we could have beaten anyone. I aree with the Dinner post. I am in Milledgeville
