Yes, the second person has to be with you when you pick the tickets up.

After that you're free to roam.

Never once have I been escorted directly into the venue.

it differs from country to country and sometimes different venue have different rules. For example in Düsseldorf, Munich and Hamburg (all in 2017) as well as in Berlin (2018) (but not in Stuttgart 2018) the LD counter was at a side entrance of the venue and you had to enter right after you got your tickets. In 2022 people got special LD wristbands – so at least in theory they could make sure that you could not give a LD to anyone else. In practice they sometimes just handed the wristbands out instead of attaching them onto people's wrists. Most of the times nobody checked the wristbands at the entrance.
But you'll never know before how and how strictly LD rules are enforced by local security

Not online, no. If cash changes hands at the venue, that's another matter.

before you are at the venue you haven't anything to sell (but a vague promise that nobody will believe since regular concert goers are not familiar with LD).
And even at the venue and holding the LDs in your hand you will face problems in selling them – since there's no price printed on LD tickets it's not easy to convince people of their real worth

slewan, don't always be so cynical winking smiley

Seriously though, I get where you're coming from as far as regular concert goers.

So any LD transaction is going to basically have to be among "real fans".

And the fine print says they are not transferable/resellable and that "tickets will be voided" if they suspect you're going to sell them.

What no one has explained to me is how they can void a ticket that they already printed out and gave you in an envelope.

They're just saying that.

The Lucky Dip scheme has been running for several tours now - am I right in thinking it is unique to the Stones and no other band offers LDs?

Phil Collins or Pink for example. I am sure there are other artists as well - just call it a different name.

If I get LD's and the person I bring gets LD's as well, will the venue each give us a pair? I'm just trying to keep the better pair and either give away the other two or give them back.

Anyone done this before?

Many times.
Easiest way- get the first pair together, wait a few, go back to a different window together,

Best way- find another couple of fans looking for dips (real easy) sell (or give) them one of the pairs with the understanding you'll take the better of the pair after y'all collect them.

Do this all the time. No rule against that.

Planning on getting a LD pair for me and a friend. I want a pair and so does he so we can keep the better pair and give the other pair to other friends.

He won't be available during the LD sale. I have his TM info. When I try to buy a pair under his account, will it send a code to his phone in order to buy the tickets? Any way around this? Thanks!

Tell him to change the phone # on his account temporarily. The phone # is used to verify the login/waiting room entrance/queue, not the actual payment.

Naturally you would be paying using your own credit card, I guess, but you guys can arrange that no problem. Use his login to store your card on file and Bob's your uncle.

Also depends on the venue (though nothing is guaranteed to stay casual every tour). Example: last show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, when we picked up our LD’s, they put us in a section that was gated off with dividers immediately after picking them up at the box office (it was right next to it by the main gates), slapped wristbands on us, and let us straight into the gates. No one was allowed to leave. We didn’t mind since we weren’t going to try any funny business with them but they were on top of it.

how does one get these LD codes? I completely forgot about the presale yday due to a work meeting and by the time I looked at Foxboro it was pretty much sold out.

It's possible to be in the queue for the general sale while trying for LDs, correct? I can't imagine it would kick me out since they're two separate pages...

Is there a queue for LDs like when trying to purchase regular tickets? Like when you click the LD link on the site do you have to wait for 1000+ people in line to get their tickets before you get your turn, or does the link take you straight to a checkout page?
