I know some of you consider it to be one of the lamer ballads the band has recorded, but I just finished downloading and converting one of the No Security Philly shows from DAD with Fool To Cry and, in all honesty, the song doesn't sound half bad live.
I love FTC and think it gets knocked around a little too roughly. In fact, I like damn near everything they've put out. I never knew so many of the songs were bad until I found this board.
I think it's a great song, and I'm soooo glad that this isn't another thread about a Stones fan who feels a fool for spending his money to buy a ticket to a show in Europe.
Yeah, Rockman, that early studio version is so beatiful. I tend to put on that instead of the official version. "How about that one" Mick says afterwards, and you hear a great sniff from his nose. (The flu or the cocaine?)

there ya go! we're a free, valuable resource aren't we?
I've always preferred the slightly edited and rearanged 'Sucking in the Seventies' version to the official B&B one, but I'll have to check out 'Static in the Attic'. I know I've seen it on ebay...
Fool To Cry ain't all that bad. But it does make me feel a little sleepy. I'm going to have to play it one night with the Beatles' Good Night directly after it! Eat your heart out NyQuil!! lol
The only negative thing about "Static In The Attic" is that the songs are too close to the original version. Of course there are some expectations, like FTC. Some tracks are unreleased like "We Had It All", "Lets Go Steady" and "Claudine". Its quite unbelievable how ABSOLUTELY PERFECT the quality is.
the fool 2 cry early version = incredible stones outtake , just think they probly got buckets of early stuff like that locked up in the vaults collectin dust
