I can't get over the fact he was posting only a day before he passed. It just shows how precious life is, and how suddenly it can be taken away. Very, very, sad.

Yeah, there probably aren't any poster here that could drive me more nuts, or I could have not disagreed more with in regard to almost anything - and for years we did best to ignore each other's posts - but I feel really down now. He like belonged to the constitution of this site. Actually when he stopped posting it felt odd because I, like I guess everyone, was so used to his daily posts. Felt like something was missing. And damn, he not just missed the new album he had counted so long, but also the Macca track (and in a way he was always right with his annoying 'hit the wall' comments). Does not sound fare.
I only knew him via his posts here. As a person - outside the moniker and presence here - he surely was something much more and else. Social media just sometimes makes communication so difficult. I just checked his site and he was a great artist. I like his works.

I sparred with Hairball a few times when I disagreed with his comments about the Stones, but I also saw a wealth of good information on his posts. I noticed
his absence here and am sorry to learn of his death. My condolences to his family.

We exchanged a few memories about the Tattoo You album and tour when we, being the same age, both became fans, and amazingly enough also about a show in 2007 in Nijmegen (the one with the huge thunderstorm), which he apparently attended as well.

Sad news indeed, he's been here for ages!
So many of us have been here for ages ... I consider it a sort of family. Weird concept isn't it? Nevertheless this shared passion for the Stones is so strong that it humanizes electronic communications!

I'm sad to hear of Eric's passing. It's a loss, and my condolences to his family and friends. I did not know him outside the forum but I enjoyed his posts and I was very much looking forward to reading his opinions on the new album. I know he was as excited as I was.

Condolences to his friends and family.
Sad to read of the passing of a well-known byline around here. If the loss of life wasn't tragic enough, there's a part of me that finds it ironically unfair that a long-time Stones fan would die just prior to the long-anticipated release of their new album.
