It's boring and they've ruined it ? Only kidding, it's great - if you like that sort of thing. Are the Stones gonna play there ? Far out, might think about going in that case. Boy o boy, there's gonna be a lot of sitting in the aisles.

Best of luck to you guys. I hope that you'll get to see them.

I just noticed recently that my closest city, Osaka, Japan has been taken off of the "rumored" list completely, so I'm a bit curious to see how the Asian tour dates will shape up too.

I hope somebody will have some info for us.

erikjjf:

Thanks for the link.

I'm still hoping they'll be coming over to my neck of the woods though, but I'm starting to have my doubts.

The other one might be Osaka or Saitama.

Toru A:

I didn't know that there was another one for sure.

I think it really should be Osaka. The last time they played 2 shows in the dome, so I would think that they could do at least 1 this time. Besides, if they don't, then Nagoya would be as far west as they would be going and they'd be skipping the second biggest metropolitan area, which doesn't make a lot of sense.

I'll keep my fingers crossed, but if you hear anything, please post it here, or email me privately onegaishimasu.

Brad,

Sendai date is confirmed at Grande21 on March 30.

[www.hokkaido-np.co.jp]

Sorry for No Osaka this time.
Another date would take place on the first part of April.

That article is a bit suspicious -- it says that the formal announcement will be made in February by JEC International. First of all, they NEVER announce a major tour in Japan so close to the show date. Second, JEC International does not appear to have the strength to sponsor a tour like this.

Also, can you imagine the Stones filling Sapporo Dome? Maybe. But, Grade 21 Stadium -- 50,000 people in Miyagi-ken sounds unlikely to me. I hope it's true, because I would love to visit Sapporo to see the Stones, and I would expect them to fill the open dates with shows at the Budokan or Yokohama Arena.

YEAHHHHHHHHHH.

Dunno what JEC international is. It's probably not very international.
But Hell! They are coming to Japan, that's for sure. And it's going to be announced soon.
You have to realize though that the god awful bands "Eagles" and "Aerosmith" played here last year too.
So there is some hope.
And even if it's not full. If I'm in the front row all is fine with me!
Please post all you know about it.

Toru A:

Thanks for the info. It's not quite what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate you passing it on.

Looks like I might have to look into getting some shinkansen tickets too...

OOOPS. My Bad - I did not read the article carefully. For those who don't read Japanese -- This actually says that the formal announcement will be in the middle of December. Basically this is an article from the local Hokkaido (where Sapporo is located) newspaper from December 4, announcing that the Stones will be playing five shows in Japan:

3/22 Tokyo Dome;
3/24 Tokyo Dome;
3/28 Sapporo Dome;
3/30 Sendai Grande 21; and
4/05 Nagoya Dome.

The article says that details will be announced in the middle of the month (next week?) I think that it is likely that they will play one or two shows between 3/30 and 4/05. I can't imagine them just hanging out in Japan for five days. I'm still hoping for Hawaii, but maybe that's no longer on the drawing board. Australia would presumably be after Japan?

If I remember correctly, JEC had promoted Prince's concert
and the capacity for Grande 21 of Sendai, Miyagi is about 7000.

If you bet on a dark horse, book Four Seasons Hotel in Mejiro, Tokyo
or hung around Starbucks at Takadano-baba. You can probably meet Our Boys.

Toru A - Grande 21 seems to include the Miyagi Stadium (capacity 50,000). But, if they play in the 7000 capacity arena, I will try to get there from California!
