New Stones line up?
Posted by: Wuudy ()
Date: October 4, 2023 13:16

Hi all,

I was reading a little snippet of an interview with Mick where he was talking about Paul McCartney on the new record.
In the comments a lot of people were saying that they should do a show are a few songs with Mick, Keith, Ronnie, Paul and Ringo.
How much fun would that be.

What are the odds that the remaining Beatles perfectly fit the line up of the remaining Stones. Do some Stones song, Beatle songs and some other classics.

Cheers,
Wuudy

Just in a happy mood, not even in the pub yet.

Let's trim it down to just a guest spot on a show. They had Dan and Patrick of the Black Keys on so they have done a guest drummer before.

Cheers,
Wuudy

Got to admit that a guest spot for Macca and Ringo would be fun. Strictly as a one off. ‘I wanna be your man’ maybe?

Would rather have Wyman and Taylor for a full show playing on every song along with Mick Ronand Keith

Would have been great for the 50th, or 60th.

why would anybody of them like to do anything like this?
Macca might guest for a song or two if his tour crosses the path of the Stones tour (or at a show in London) but that will surely be a one-off.
In contrast to Macca who is able to fill big venues on his own Ringo might be interested to appear at a Stones show. But do we really think the Stones are interested in having him on their show? They have a good drummer and Ringo doesn't even appear on their new album.

Oh heavens no! No Beatles album was enhanced by the inclusion of a song featuring Ringo singing. Imagine if the Stones had done the same with Charliesmiling smiley

Ringo on drums would be just fine.....

I don't think this is a good idea.

Cover Of Wings - The Frog's Chorus
Mick, Keith, Ronnie, Macca and Ringo. Hologram of John, George, Brian. Mick Taylor joins half way through with Bill.
Clapton gets dropped down from a harness to do a guitar solo then is lifted back up.
Phil Collins on a second set of drums. Video montage of Jimi playing in the background.
Bob Dylan does backing vocals alongside tom Waits.
Jimmy Page and Robert plant join for an encore just when you think the song is finished.
At the end 1000 frogs are dropped from above the stage.

I'm thinking he is busy eating humble pie. The new music by our beloved band
was more than he could handle.

As it said after this, a quest spot of the two of them would be great and well overdue IMO. The had the Black Keys on so they had a drummer as a guest. With Ringo I imagine they won't do the double drummers as Charlie is not here any more,

Speaking of guest spots, how come Rod Stewart never did a song with them? It seems like such a natural fit. Career wise, Ronnie of course and as far as I know he is friendly with all of them.
I do remember Keith being asked once, maybe ten years ago, and he said something like "yeah it hasn't gone unnoticed that we haven't had him on, Hopefully in the future,"

Cheers,
Wuudy

I can see a guest spot for Paul at a Stones show. Or Mick does one at one of Paul's. Mick could sing I Wanna Be Your Man. Paul could play bass on the new Stones track he's on. Most realistic scenario I can imagine.
