Yeah, I guess it is a NEW AND VERY ALARMING TREND IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS that rock music is started to be treated as children's music... No adult any more taking it seriously? Probably not changing the title of the last song of GOATS HEAD SOUP will be enough to make it the most suitable piece for kindergardens to sing-a-long?

But yeah, some people try to hide the genitals of Michelangelo's statue from the eyes of children, etc.

Just love it when a bunch of 60+ year olds get off on this media-manufactured "wokeness" debate while at the same time there are real policies being pushed through to stop children learning about their history, the current state of gender science, the climate crisis etc.

If the artists themselves are choosing to do this, what's the issue?

That's correct, but are you sure about that they choose it?

I am pretty sure that MJ and KR did not wake up prior to the last tour and realize after 50 years that BS was a racist song. In fact, I believe it is not a racist song and never was one. But outside 'enlightened' people might have put pressure on them. At least, for the time being, it has not been dropped from any album. But that day may come. That is the trend. A very bad trend.

I believe KR has expressed some similar sentiments. I'm assuming this decision was MJ's for several reasons.

Apparently it has more to do with keeping the kids from hearing obscure salty lyrics. I listened to FBG as a kid and I do think they make the rocking world go round.winking smiley

Ok that sort of makes sense.

Geez I thought big derrieres were currently fashionable.
Horrible song anyway.

I was thinking something similar, they're not making fun but almost praising.

This thread is closed for three - 3 - reasons:

1. Off Topic post missing "OT" prefix in headline
2. CAPITAL LETTERS in headline is in itself shouting
3. Politically oriented post - woke talks are highly political

PS. The following was the original headline of this thread, a clickbait sort of headline:

NEW AND VERY ALARMING TREND IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS

Please follow the basic rules of posting on IORR. Otherwhise I have to start deleting.
