Forgot the Debut album (in black vinyl). Originally was planned for October or so?

The Rolling Stones (1st album), Black Vinyl, Barcode 018771214014, 19-Oct-2024 - [www.Fnac.com] .

Thanks!

As per today, I’ve collected:
- the entire US discography
- the entire EU discography minus the debut album (due later this year) and LIB
The question is: has the EU LIB been issued? I can’t find it…
Thanks for helping.

On top of that, initially I reported that the US 12x5 and GYYYO! had re-worked picture labels. Well, I’ve later (mid-summer 2023) got copies with new labels and this sets that a complete series should include 2x of each album.

Seems it was only re-issued in 2019 as 50th Anniversary Edition - [www.hhv.de] - (Barcode 018771858416, Made in The EU).

In 2020 there was in Italy a special re-issue by 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' - [www.Discogs.com] .

Thanks, Irix.
I know the pressings you mention very well. All in all, you confirm the EU LIB has not been issued (yet). Bye,

Does this mean you have 4 aftermaths and 4 Between the Buttons, eg:
- aftermath UK (both EU and US pressings)
- aftermath US (both EU and US pressings)

Did you always were certain what you ordered? I ask because eu and Us variants have the same spine / cat numbers

No, I mean I have all albums issued in EU and in the USA minus EU LIB (un-issued) and TRS (to be issued).
Release do not coincide: ENHM has been issued in US, where TRS is not planned.
In EU, we’ll get TRS, but not ENHM.
In the case of BTB, yes: I have 4 of them.
Getting the right copy it’s not hard.
I do not use eBay or Amazon: I use local record shop where I can place my order and they search the distributors for me.
It’s cheap (no shipping) and accurate.
It’s not 100% guaranteed… sometimes e-shopping is necessary.

Thanks. I have one request, but only if it’s not too much work. Could you make a list of all the rereleases you have with catalogue number, pressing (eu or us)? I’m collecting these as well, but not sure I have all the new ones of the revived Abkco catalogue. If it’s too much trouble, don’t bother. But would appreciate it. Thanks!

Thanks for the list! About the EU/US pressings: does any of the items in the list have 2 pressing versions (US AND EU)?

Cannot help with this question as I do not own every EU/US pressing, nor do I have access to reliable pictures of the rear-covers of all EU/US pressings.

You could try to compare it by yourself: look at large, real pictures of the rear-covers on eBay in the United States and then also on eBay Europe. The barcodes are the same for US/EU-pressings.

I have a question for the collectors of these black vinyl reissues (@Irix, @1963luca0 ?). I think I have most of the items in my collection. When I look at the spines, it is my understanding that on these new (2023/2024) versions, the spine information contains a 4 digit number with the addition of "-1" (eg 2136-1), then the title of the album, followed by 'The Rolling Stones' and finally 'Abcko'. Now, There are some copies I own, which don't have this short 4 digit number, but the long category number (eg 018771213512). Does this mean I don't own the latest 2023/2024 version? Below the list of all the new albums I bought with the spine catalogue numbers on it:

The Rolling Stones (1964, UK) - [not listed yet, available later in 2024]
England's Newest Hit Makers (1964, US) - 2139-1
12 X 5 (1964, US) - 2117-1
The Rolling Stones No. 2 (1965, UK) - 2123-1
The Rolling Stones, Now! (1965, US) - 2141-1
Out of Our Heads (1965, US) - 2125-1
Out of Our Heads (1965, UK) - 2126-1
December's Children [And Everybody's] (1965, US) - 2124-1
Aftermath (1966, UK) - 718637-1
Aftermath (1966, US) - 2119-1 (note: different text format and other alignment)
Between the Buttons (1967, UK) - 2127-1
Between the Buttons (1967, US) - 2120-1 (note: spine info is bold and deviant format of the text)
Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967) - NPS-2
Beggars Banquet (1968) - 018771204817
Let It Bleed (1969) - 8584-1 (weird number)
Big Hits [High Tide and Green Grass] (1966, US) - 018771213314
Big Hits [High Tide and Green Grass] (1966, UK) - 018771213413
Flowers (1967, US) - 2137-1
Through the Past, Darkly [Big Hits Vol. 2] (1969, UK) - 018771213611
Through the Past, Darkly [Big Hits Vol. 2] (1969, US) - 018771213512
Hot Rocks 1964–1971 (1971, US) - 9930-1 (weird number, deviant typing format)
More Hot Rocks [Big Hits & Fazed Cookies] (1972, US) - 2121-1 (deviant typing format)
Metamorphosis (1975, US) - 2138-1
Got Live If You Want It! (1966, US) - 2132-1
Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! (1970) - 018771211617

For Through the past, darkly I know there are new versions with the 4 digit spine info. So, that is 'solved'.

For the other red notes, I guess my main question is: are these the latest versions I own, are there any updates expected that match with the new reissues catalogue numbering?

JackFlash,
please, never mix US and EU pressings.
This is the US discography as per my black vinyl collection, as per today
2139-1 ENHM - with poster
12x5 - 1st version, with ABKCO on front and re-worked 2003 labels(*)
2117-1 12x5 - 2nd version
2123-1 No.2
2141-1 Now
2124-1 December's Children
2125-1 OOOH - US
2126-1 OOOH - UK
2119-1 Aftermath - US
8637-1 Aftermath - UK
2134-1 Big Hits - UK - mono
Big Hits - US - mono (*)
2132-1 GLIYWI!
2120-1 BTB - US - stereo
2127-1 BTB - UK - stereo
2137-1 F - US - stereo
NPS2 TSMR - stereo
B'sB - toilet (*)
2136-1 TTPD - UK - stereo - octagonal
8584-1 LIB - the only one with a different, transparent sticker
GYYYO! - 1st version - reworked 2003 labels (*)
GYYYO! - 2nd version (*)
9930-1 HR
2121-1 MHR

(*) > using barcode as cat.no., on spine

TRS and Metamorphosis seem not to be planned, for the US market
To avoid confusion, I will post the EU discography separately
I have not listed the 4x Amazon's limited edition + the Goldmine's Flowers to stick to black vinyl only

Is "Rolling Stones Records – COC 59100" the catalogue number? That's for STICKY FINGERS. I noticed that the US edition has the same number so I'm guessing it's not. Looked it up on discogs.com.

Don't see any other numbers.

No, not really since there's no proof on Amazon (e.g. sticker with country of origin or 'Made in the EU' fine print).

On [www.hhv.de] they use their own pictures where you can see the sticker and the EU-print. But not all new re-releases are listed there yet.

I'm a bit fascinated by the choices made in catalogue numbers and how it is presented on the spine and finally the packaging. A few noteworthy results I saw on the vinyl reissues:

1) Most reissue cat numbers are something in this format: 21xx-1. One of the reissues that doesn't have this is Aftermath US version (both EU and US pressings). This is 718637-1 (EU) and 8637-1 (US). Why would this be so different? Both Aftermaths (EU / US) are part of the reissue program, so why not a cat number in the range 21xx-1?

2) Spine info: most reissues have the following spine information (from left to right): cat number - The Rolling Stones - Album Title - Aback. Again, there are some titles that don't follow this pattern. For instance, Aftermath US, Between the Buttons US. Note: I own the EU pressings for both. Is it different for the US pressing of Aftermath US and BTB US?

3) I received the EU pressings of both "Big Hits Through the past, darkly" yesterday (issued in July 2024). They came in regular plastic sleeves with 'made in Czech Republic' stickers on it. The actual LP covers were not in shrinkwrap. The online shop said this was the way they got it from the distributor. Anyone noticed this as well?

As a collector these things fascinate me a bit and make me curious about the how and why. I guess I have some autistic features in me spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

3) is correct
Rest: enquire ABKCO and see what happens…
Generally speaking, ABKCO in no new in generating chaos and I’m not surprised by the present situation: they just sell records, why’d they have a Collector’s approach? Simply, they don’t care.

The ABKCO labelling seems not always consistent.

Example: Beggars Banquet (018771204817) says on the rear-cover 'Manufactured by ABKCO [...] New York' and the 'Made in the EU' fine print is missing - but the sticker says 'Made in Czech Republic' - [www.hhv.de] .
