So Charlie died from throat cancer?

Don't believe the tabloids - listen to what Keith said: [www.CBSnews.com] .

So Keith finally quit smoking!

I had thought so, but recent pix have shown him holding a cig, so I'm not so certain.
He's prolly holding a shhdoobie.

Jokingly, I told my wife that I'm still waiting for my invitation. She shot me a deadpan look and stated, "Even with all the money you've spent on the Rolling Stones over the last 50 years, you'd be lucky to get a used napkin from that party..." Ouch!

Daryl Jones is not Mick's "bandmate." He is a paid sideman.

Be good to see the entire world partying with Mick on his birthday.

Maybe he will put up a few extra million and hire The Rolling Stones to play a private exclusive concert for the night too! Although that article said he's only spending "thousands"...

Happy Birthday Mick!

For 30 years? His time in the band has now exceeded Bill Wyman's.

Chuck Leavell has been a paid sideman for 41 years. They are not "band members."

But I think they both would be considered "band mates"...

Happy Birthday Mick!

Will be interesting to see how Mick's moving at that bash, hopefully better than in that seedy street in NYC !

Well Sighunt, just to let you know. We've all been invited ... in spirit winking smiley
Maybe your wife will understand.
And we only need to beca little patient, because instead of a napkin, we will receive a new album for relatively little money (certainly in comparison with the cost of concert tickets, sometimes added up with travel expense, hotels, etc.)

Even to Mick it's all a miracle. 80 years of age and of those 80 years the Rolling Stones have been part of his life for a shocking 61 years.

Let's (not only) drink to the hard working people next week, but also to Mick's longevity smileys with beer. (not to forget Keith, Ronnie and so many others)

If anyone of us would be invited what we give Mick as a present?

How about a signed copy of Main Offender or one of those weird bear dolls? The $280 one of course. smiling smiley

Darryl should not be compared to Bill.Bill was a founding member. He formed a part of rock’s greatest rhythm section. And he played on21 studio albums , including their best.Darryl has played on 3 studio albums of new material

Bill is too busy talking about how much he hates the Stones songs. I wouldn’t invite the quitter either. Well maybe if there were underaged girls there he might attend.

The party looks to be located pretty close to Edith Grove. Seems poetic and fitting.

Bill was invited to play on the new album, so it's safe to say that he's probably been invited to attend Micks big 80th bash. Hope Mick Taylor will be there also.
Paul McCartney has more than likely been invited also, along with Elton John, Pete Townshend, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, and other elderly rockers.
And no doubt some much younger/contemporary artists will be invited. Maybe the likes of Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift...

Question not asked so far, more interesting than the cake, IMO:
Any musicians playing?
Keith on guitar, why not?
