in all honesty they did not take any risks : they did not cover the song - which means giving your own version of it - they carbon-copied it.
Apparently Trucks knew and drew inspiration from the live 73 arrangements. And yes, like Taylor was that year, he can be pretty "talkative".

They are a great band. Makes you realize how much the Stones could shake up their setlist and play songs that rock and are different from what we've all come to expect. At this point in time what have they got to lose?

I saw Tedeschi-Trucks last Saturday up in Saratoga. As far as Trucks goes I found him extremely skilled and boring. He just plays solo after solo without much variation. Heartbreaker was played and there were moments I liked. I liked Tedeschi far better than Trucks.
