His right knee is totally shot. Looks like a very serious injury, sadly.

Yeah, I know. I guess he has a powerful microscope.

I thought Keith said Mick's microscope wasn't particularly impressive?

Though he later tried to soften the blow by stating the adjustment knobs were huge.

Didn't they just show Mick dancing at a private party a few days ago?

That video didn't seem like he had a bad knee or ankle.

Definitely a limp and/or favoring one leg over the other...I'm no doctor, but it appears to be a problem with his right leg/knee,

I usually don’t like to speculate about this sort of thing because people tend to get carried away a bit but they’re not wrong here.
He’s got a torn up right knee, you’d have to have never been involved in athletics to not see it.
It’s ironic because when he had the heart problem I posted something like “stop worrying, I’ll bet he got a knee training for the tour”

You can see when he steps up on the sidewalk and then takes a step it turns awkwardly inward.
When he’s on the carpet with Melanie hes walking very gingerly.if he’s not wearing a brace he should be.

It might be time to work that postage stamp then.

[If it were to be the end of running about for mick, I prey that they embrace a new performing style and don't pack it in altogether.]

I watched the Quiet One yesterday, and the way Bill sees it seems the more natural way: the Rolling Stones were a great band in the 60s, 70s and the early 80s. The tour of 1989 / 1990 was their Grande finale. It's unbelievable they were still touring in 2022. The way Mick acts on stage, they should have been done by 1990. Prince needed a hip replacement when he was 50 because of his wild dancing, but refused because of his faith. Mick at nearly 80 would normally need knee replacements, hip replacements, heart replacement for this kind of touring..

You have to wonder what happened to his knee, an accident, a bad fall ? I'd seen no hint of any knee problems in the past.

You've only got to twist it funny to do quite a bit of damage ...at any age, let alone 80.

But we could yet be imagining all this.

I never understood why they decided to go on till they drop. I remember Jagger quitting the band in the early 80s claiming the band was in a too bad shape to continue...

For what it's worth: the popular german singer Peter Fox, famous for lyrics encouraging people "if you wanna be cool you need to learn the dance" recently turned 50 and said he won't be able to dance much on his upcoming tour because of his bad knees

These images convince me, as I did as soon as I heard the news, that the postponement of the tour was due to a health problem. But of course, I totally respect the contrary opinion asserted here but never proven.

I would be more than happy if they could release a new album. I don't care that much about another tour. They have toured enough already.

You have to wonder what happened to his knee, an accident, a bad fall ?

If it's his knee, it could be a rupture of the cruciate ligament - [en.Wikipedia.org] .

In sports (especially football/soccer) there're often reports that a player is not available for the match due to an injury during training. As causes, rupture of cruciate ligament or tendon are mostly mentioned.

Yes, it could have been during his dance rehearsals for what eventually became the cancelled tour. Not to mention the wear and tear from decades of running/dancing/performing on stage
As someone who has had several knee surgeries in the past, I feel his pain and hopes he gets it taken care of properly. Being that he's nearly 80 that might be easier said than done, but if left alone it can only get worse.
Based on the amazing way he bounced back from the heart ailment several years ago, there's plenty of hope he can bounce back from this also.

A friend of mine is a physiotherapist. I have asked her to have a close look at these short Tribeca street scenes.
After having watched them several times on a big screen she told me that it can clearly be seen that something seems to be badly wrong with Micks right knee, because when under stress it goes definitely into a knock-knees position.
(As we could always see he used to have a certain knock-knee problem ever since, but not that bad.)
She can of course not say what it is, but she would recommend to see a specialist asap.
That he seemed to have "danced" at night does not mean that everything is ok, because he did not really dance, but has simply slightly moved his body from the hips upwards.

Let us all hope that Mick will recover again - but we will probably never see him running up and down the stage like we could watch him over the last decades. Age takes its toll. At 76 I know what I am talking about ...

For sure with his status and wealth he is a regular visitor of doctors and specialist to check his health

What do you intend to say with this comment? Do you think one of these "doctors and specialists" might have had a look into the matter to simply say "Go ahead. Your knee does not seem to work properly again, but you should go to the shooting and show the world that you are now a disabled person." I doubt it.

Yes it could have been during the rehearsals, hence the last minute cancelation of the announcement. It's not exactly a minor problem though and there's no way they were going to tour this summer/fall with Mick in that state. The "they couldn't get the deal they wanted after postponing" always sounded a bit odd to me.
What's perplexing is why he's not doing better 4 months down the road when he has access to the best possible medical treatments available. What are the odds that he's ever going to get better now? Maybe some kind of "bracket" could help? I remember seeing ads for a bracket that could help older skiers with bad knees...

Mick, like he's limping a little?

Definitely.

Normally Mick is very relaxed and fluid in the way he moves. No way in that shot.
. Because Mick still have trouble with one of his foot and it's why the us summer tour has been postponed
