Well, 'Inter Miami' must go down as one of the stupidest club-names ever. A plastic club, surely? Oh, it's 'Brand Beckham'!
There was quite a but of laughter amongst the British press when Beckham embarked on his Miami project. The name is ludicrous, of course.

No, "fútbol" is Spanish. In Portuguese it would be "futebol". Also, the word "club" would be "clube" in Portuguese.

Ha! Actually, I have wondered about the MLS fans and whether hooliganism is an aspect. When briefly living in Toronto, I did attend a Toronto FC match at BMO Field. It was so, so different to an English league match in terms of the fan-environment and atmosphere. Far less tribal and so much more American. Eating hotdogs and pizza, instead of stale burgers and meat pies. You could sit with a large beer, though. That's something you can't do in top-flight English football!
We need to change this. Maybe Luton Town could be used for the pilot study!

Don't follow soccer that closely but I see Lionel Messi will be signing with Inter Miami in the MLS. Pretty big news and I'm sure they'll be a huge draw where ever they play, including Vancouver against the Whitecaps. Miami is partly owned by David Beckham. When he joined the LA Galaxy a number of years ago, that was big news.
Many are saying Messi is the GOAT. For those here that follow football/soccer closely, your thoughts?

I would have liked to see Messi playing a few more years in an important european club like Manchester City or even in PSG.
Being from Argentina i hope he can make it to the next world cup.

Thoughts? His career is winding down. I think he’s earned it. A couple of seasons in the MLS, then retirement.
