The best Stones related gift that I have received would be tickets to the upcoming show in Memphis on Dec. 3th. My gift was a birthday (Dec 2nd) present from my wonderful wife. Gee... wonder what I'm getting for X-mas........
While in Russia, a bookstore employee gave me the Russian version of the poster promoting Bill Wyman's book "Rolling With The Stones" simply for the asking. She mentioned that the poster was due to be replaced next week and declined cash that I wanted to give to her for her efforts, so I left $5 on the counter.
Beer from Rockman, records from Dandelion. Dvd´s from Gary. Best I gave: some cd´s & digital delivery of things and maybe more than anything else Wyman´s name, signed on his Rolling With The Stones to my son on his 11th birthday. Maybe I can give Taylors a-graph to my daughter when she becomes six years old at Jan 17................
I received the Four Flicks dvd set, the Live Licks double cd and a book called The Rolling Stones Unseen Archives in the last 2 Christmases from my mom and step-father. The book was a real treat because I hadn't seen or heard of it before.

I got 4 flicks AND the three 7 ft long banners that were hanging in Best Buy to promote it -- hard to get. Two banners are just electric green, and the 3rd middle one is black with the electric green tongue. Hanging nicely in my apt.
Everyone in my family knows I'm a Stones fanatic, and this past Christmas, my wife's aunt gave me her '66 (or '65...can't remember) tour program along with her ticket stub (from the Rochester, NY concert) stapled to the back cover! She had hung onto it ever since going to the show as a kid!
A ticket to the Licks Stade de France show as a birthday present from my sister. A t-shirt from my father with the text: "Who the @#$%& is Mick Jagger". Keith wore a shirt like that somewhere in the late sixties or seventies in Holland. And a cool book called "the rolling Stones Files" by Mark Paytress. It's about the sixties.
Ms. Elizabeth Saltzman, in a moment of highest generosity, called me in the middle of the night from Italy to tell me to buy two plane tickets to Las Vegas for February, 1998. She had two passes...
My brother and I wound up sitting between Drew Barrymore and Lars Ulrich of Metallica third row center at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel.
The perfect christmasgift must be the great film ROLLING LIKE A STONE.
An old filmroll from the summer of 1965 shows a party in a flat on Fersens Road in Malmö. Present are local popidols from bands such as Namelosers and Gonks, but also ordinary boys and girls. They are gathered around some exclusive guests: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Brian Jones from The Rolling Stones-the first international popband to visit Malmö. 40 years later, the filmmakers meet with some of the participants from the party. "Rolling Like A Stone" is a documentary about those whos identities were shaped during a few years in the middle of the 60:s. But it´s also a film about the hardships of growing old with your dreams and live in the here and now. In "Rolling Like A Stone" you´ll see a lot of previously unseen footage from Malmö in the 60:s, including newly found footage from Klubb Bongo 1965.
Mickijaggeroos notes: The party with the Stones is thoroughly described in Stonesviking Ove Tingvalls book: The Rolling Stones In Sweden Pictures of The Stones visit to Malmö
My Dad bought tickets to my first Stones concert, Boston Garden, June 1972, also Boston July 1975, Buffalo, August 1975. Also, my boyfriend has a buddy with ALOT OF $$ who bought his wife the Stones Official Tour parka and she wouldn't wear it so he gave it to me! It's navy with the tongue logos all down the inside seams, official seal on the front and THE STONES on the back! The hood comes in handy here in New England during the winter; I LOVE IT!

The Reverend's gift is hard to beat here...though I love my Stones pajama pants, sandals, and numerous t-shirts from my wife and family over they years. And though I paid for it, I consider my wife agreeing to the Vegas trip see them last month a gift too. :-)

You know what was cool about it? Elizabeth was not my boss, but was very much a superior at my then job--and someone who travels in the craziest high society and fashion circles (like where the owner of the Hard Rock drops two passes on you over dinner in Milan). She could have given those passes to a million people who could have reciprocated with HUGE favors. I was able to give her an Aretha Franklin boxed set...
I'll tell you this: I was breaking up with my girlfriend right as the Fenway show happened in August--and that's for the best. But I would give anything to have a lady in my life who was sharing the Stones with me...
