RIP Mary Quant.
From this distance in time it probably seems fanciful to connect a 'mere' clothes designer with what turned out to be a major upheaval in social norms. Many factors were ingredients in what overturned the conservative ways of the 1950's - and Dame Mary's contribution was very significant.
The V&A had (have?) a touring exhibition of her work, and last year it visited a town near where I live, and it was more than impressive.
