Yes Nils, yet another useless lyric video of one of the Stones greatest tracks.
I guess these lyric vids are nice for people who like to be spoonfed the lyrics and bombarded with lame visuals, but I prefer to let the music itself do the talking...
My favorite version is the original studio version, though I always enjoy it when I see it performed live...it's quite moving....

It's a way to promote the back catalogue to a new audience. I had to stop and watch it all the way through. Wonderful song. I always think of autumn at night, like when I first heard it fifty years ago. Brilliant counterpoint to the raucous Exile on Main Street. The acoustic guitars, Nicky and Bill, Mick's singing. Marvelous.

I like some of these, especially when there's some Stones content in the video. Unfortunately not the case here. Maybe the next one.

Well, the one I randomly saw was in Spanish. So there are versions in different languages I guess.

Looked alright to me. That's about it. Seemingly they put a bit more creative effort to it than what ABKCO did to their lyric videos.

But like 24FPS pointed out, it is not exactly aimed at someone like me who has known more than by heart this song for ages, and owns it in who knows how many versions in whatever formats, but to promote and spread their incredible catalogue to a new audience on a platform easy acessable to about anyone (a tip: the ones wondering its point or seeing it as 'useless' probably could think the thing from that point of view - that not every product of theirs is exactly aimed to please the demands of a hardcore fan).

please explain ?

For example the last video Emotional Rescue had a Stones record turning on the record player. tongue and Stones on a TV set.

I think it is pretty okay. Of course it doesn't surpass the promo video (version 2), but what does? The version 2 is one of the five best music promos ever.

I like both of these versions. Can't decide if one is better than the other. Enjoy.
