I'm looking forward to it. She's got a phenomenal voice.

I think she flipped a Zep song or something once before and it was really cool. She’s not going to do a basic cover of the original.

I’m more surprised Slash isn’t making an appearance than the Stones!

I've never been a big fan of the original version ever since it was originally released in the mid-'70's, though never really disliked it either...it was just always there.
But this new version is infectious and delightful...Dolly's vocals are top notch, and then the classic vocals of Anne Wilson...together they make for an ominous kick ass version.

'I wanted Mick Jagger so bad': Dolly Parton reveals why she couldn't get no satisfaction from Rolling Stones rocker because he 'wanted something different'

By Sean O'Grady
June 30, 2023

Dolly Parton has revealed she missed out on a chance to duet with Mick Jagger on her new rock and roll album.

The country music legend, 77, is bringing out an album with a different sound, Rockstar, and thought the Rolling Stones singer, 79, would be perfect for a duet.

Dolly explained her husband Carl Thomas Dean is a big fan of Mick's but the pair couldn't make a duet work.

Speaking to the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential, she said: 'I wanted Mick Jagger so bad, because my husband loves him, and I wanted him to sing on (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, but he wanted something new and different, which I don't blame him for.

'We kept looking for the right song. He was doing an album in LA, and I was doing stuff in Nashville, and I kept missing him, but he wanted to do it.'

Interesting. It was just the song choice that Mick had problems with, not with dueting with her. Yeah, he didn't want to re-record that song and most likely not any other old Stones classic. I respect that.

but he just did heartbreaker with buddy guy a couple years ago

granted it's very different from the stones version and i assume she wanted to do a version of satisfaction very close to the original

Mick should have done Party Doll with Dolly Parton... It's practically named after her... Perfect country flavor for her...

He's probably be kicking himself for not collaborating with Dolly on her star studded new album as it seems right in his wheelhouse, That might mean she'll be on the new Stones album instead though -
so many possibilities to ponder there. Whether it's a cover, or a brand new original...Mick and Dolly...together...I can here them harmonizing now. Or maybe she'll do a duet with Keith -
similar to the Norah Jones duet w/Keith on Crosseyed Heart's Illusion, or Sara Dash's duet w/Keith on Talk is Cheap's Make No Mistake. Again, so many possibilities.........

It’s funny to me to see Ronnie McDowell on the album. Tons of superstars, then Ronnie McDowell. I’m good friends with his family. I’d never heard of him before I met his relatives. Haha! I did meet DJ Fontana through his family, which was cool, but seeing Ronnie on this list of music royalty is surreal.

Yes! Dolly you are a Rockstar, very good. I listened to the CD for the first time today. When I heard Mick wasn't going to be on the album I just thought there would be no Stones song on, I was very surprised to hear Satisfaction, yea cool good one

Too much of everything. And she´s beginning to sound like Sean Connory..."I love you scho much..." You can buy perfect skin, but you cant buy a young mouth when you are 78...I love her, but please...take care...

Yes, what's up with the accent ? I listened to "Let It Be" with Macca and Ringo and it was pretty distracting.

I was looking forward to this album sooooo much. I like rock music and country music (and many styles more) and I think that Dolly is among the coolest cats in the music business. I would have loved to like that album but I can´t. Impossible. A handful of versions are cool, most are not. Don´t wanna criticize her accent (I´m german...), but I hear it. Production-wise too much of most everything. A nice document for the record shelf.

Cheers, Fillmore
