Yeah, it must have been another song. McCartney hadn't even presented it to Lennon by then, let alone recorded it.

Yes, that's a bit of an error. I took the list from the NME's website.

The categories are a bit of a joke, really. I think they modernised them once the 70's came along. I mean, the Shadows won the best 'instrumental unit', when, surely, the 'instrumental group' thing was a think of the past by 1968, generally. And Lulu winning 'world female singer' and 'British female singer'?? Hadn't NME readers ever listened to Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin?
