If they ever replace Ronnie (and I doubt it), it ain't gonna be with some weak ass '80s heavy metal guy. Waddy Watchell would be their first choice, I bet, as he played in Keith's solo band and on nearly every track of Bridges to Babylon. Somebody like Jeff Beck or Jimmy Rip may have an outside shot as well.

Waddy will be 60 in 2007, are they gonna replace ronnie with a guy about as old as him ??

Absolute poppycock in my book. CC's in jail?? When's the last time Wood spent time in jail?? His playing and contribution may be nominal at times, but show the guy some respect he's a Stone thru and thru! As far as ever replacing Watts-if that happens the Stones are on the shelf for good. BTW, ever heard Ringo's son with the Who?? He's tough as nails.

I think the Stones will stick with the same
lineup; Jagger, Richards, Watts,and Woods.
If Watts or Woods die or quit on their own
accord then they will replace them, but
not until. Jagger and Richards will
stick together til one of them dies
then just go solo or retire.

Yeah, Zak Starkey is a great drummer. I saw him on the road with Ringo a few years ago and he is much better than the old man. However, sadly, Keith Moon is still dead!

Yeah, I've seen him with the Who and he's awesome. He's currently touring with Oasis.

If it ever happened, I think a good replacement would be former G'n'R guitarist Izzy Stradlin. He and Axl played with them in 89 and Izzy is a good rhytmn guitarist.

I think Izzy covers one of Ronnies songs on his solo album. I think it's "Take a Look at the Guy".

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Jagger is 62 and he hasn't slowed down any. On the other hand, there are guys in their 30s and 40s who are already totally burned out. It's not necessarily someone's age, it's how much of their mental and physical capabilities they've retained. I'm assuming Waddy is still in decent shape and can play well, but I don't know for sure. I do know I don't want the guy from Poison in the Stones, ever, even if he is the greatest guitarist on earth. Which he isn't.

Oh No, I agree with you that it's a somewhat "controversial" selection, but I think what Keith and Mick have seen in CC is his ENERGY and STAGE PRESENCE as well as what his former drummer Ricky Rockitt called "the feeling when he hits that first chord"...

They're looking not just for a virtuoso guitarist, but an INNOVATOR, an artist if you will, and CC Deville is in a class by himself.

Which is the first gig that DeVille will be joining the Stones in the U.S. ?? Will he be there for the January '06 openers in Montreal and again in Boston ??

Any announcements from Ron Wood as to what he's going to be doing in "retirement" ? Will he form a new band, do a solo tour or just concentrate on his painting ?

My guess is Ronnie will just work on sobriety and look back on the Stones as a fading memory.
