Cool Ronnie.

Cool Kenney.

Cool Mac.

Cool Tetsu.

Even a Cool Rod!

A Faces concert was a fine time indeed. Thanks for posting.

When I see footage of 70's rock audiences, I'm always struck how fit everyone appears to be. It wasn't even notable back then. At some point along the way Americans became "Super-Sized" and much bigger in every way.

When I saw them Fall 1973, Ooh-La-La tour, Stay With Me was the only song I knew Faces for, and I was going mostly to see Rod. Too young dumb and uninformed to know going into it what an incredible band I was about to see.

I saw Robin Zander years ago in a small club, and he covered IAON, I spoke to him after the show about the song, he said he played like the Faces, not the Stones.
So what are the differences?

One of the performances I love by Rod & The Faces is the live version of True Blue, the opener of Rod’s solo album, Never A Dull Moment. I’ve been searching for good live footage of the song only to locate a rather grainy archival recording as below:

Does anybody know better footage than this?

For Japan after this Australian show,
the soccer ball rolled out at first, then all members appeared on stage of Budokan, Tokyo.
The show was so exciting that some audience had to be fainted.

They had to cancel Osaka show after letting loose themselves too much, though.smiling smiley

Oh yes! Realy great! I never saw them because I was a bit too young back then. But when I was a teenager I heard them a lot. Pure Rock'n Roll. Rod Stewart was a fantastic performer and Ron Wood was a briliant rockin' lead guitarist. Ian Mc Lagan's style was unique. What a band it was!
