HTW - question about lick

OK, when KEith changes from G to C and then back, how does he play that little melody/riff/lick between C and G?? You know, just before "...She tried to take me upstairs for a ride." Its a high note going down in a twirl, sounds easy but I dont get it.

I'd like to know too. The tab from Singles Collection - The London Years Tab Book doesn't sound right when I play it.

Unfortunately, he changed the part to an easier version in 1975. Until this day he only plays a "light version" of the amazing lick he did on the studio version. If Ry Cooder said he should have song credits for HTW, I'm sure he's talking about that lick. It would not be a surprise if Cooder wrote that (as he did on lots of licks on the Let It Bleed album).

The lick is easy to play. No pick. Use your thumb and index finger on the G-string and light E-string and slide away smiling smiley

Don't know if it is how it should be done, but I've always done it this way (easier):

2nd st ( B ) 8 6 0 3 3
3d st ( G ) 0 0 0 2(4) 0

C

p.s. the 2(4) means bend 3d string second fret (A) to ( B )
