I had tried a quiz way back in some ancient thread but it got lost. Erik said he was tired so here goes.
1 - What record did the Stones hold in Guiness Book of records in 77?
2 - What was on fan's heads at concert @ Lyceum in 69?
3 - Where did the post wedding jam at Jagger/Biance wedding take place?
4 - What was the last chord Taylor played as a Rolling Stone on US soil?
5 - Why was Keith late for court in 10/76?
6 - A judge took Jagger's earnings from a LA 78 show. Why?
7 - What other (than Watts) famous drummer played on Gimme Some Neck?
8 - Who recorded the J/R song "So Much In Love"?
9 - Who was "gassed to have made Number One"? ( I love the way that Q sounds LOL)
10 - before start of SW tour there was a 24 hour watch onb Jagger. Why?

Rockman is on. Mick Fleetwood is right. As is the "Loudest Band" and the "Trouser press" question.
Lonely Boys is not. Did they do it too?
That "last chord on US soil" Q...I kind of thought that Honolulu would end up being more right than what I thought. I was thinking of the main USA. Then it actually is easy.
About the Wedding Q. It is "Where did the jam take place"?

The reception in the Café des Arts was attended by 200 guests - 70 of whom had been flown from London on a chartered Comet paid for by the groom.

The party went on into the early hours of the morning when the newly-weds left on the yacht Romeang, with a six-man crew for a 10-day honeymoon around Corsica and Sardinia.

Musicians: MJ (voc), David Brown, Doris Troy, P.P. Arnold, Stephen Stills, Nicky
Hopkins, Bobby Keys, Michael Shrieve.

I think it had something to do with one of the Hell's Angels being pissed off at Mick. He accused Mick of abandoning the Hells Angels, not coming to their defense after Altamont.

Just a guess though.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Got to give answers and sprerad more Stone wisdom to my co-fellow-Stoners.
1 - Loudest Band
2 - The Stones had artificial snow falling on the audience.
3 - Cafe des Arts
4 - TeleK is so smart. That is exactly what I had figured out too: B chord as the last one from MR.
5 - He had to have his pants pressed. That was when the judge said that he found it hard to believe that a man of Keith's stature only had one pair of pants.
6 - He had neglected to pay child support. He had been paying some ridiculous amount up to then; judge took his share from one of the LA gigs.
7 - Mick Fleetwood (Seven Days)
8 - Mighty Avengers (I read this)
9 - Surprises me that no one got this. Answer is "Jumping Jack Flash". It was in a letter that Jagger wrote to UK fans. He was on tour somehwre, but wrote home to thank England and siad that JJF was "gassed to have made Number1".
10 - The ever present Hells' Angels once again threatend Jagger's life. Was an aniversary of Altamont.

I wish everyone would participate in these quizzes. I think they are loads of fun.

Hello,

I posted a question on this site but no one has replied. I thought as you do this quiz you may know the answer. I am trying to track down a copy of an article that appeared in the UK newspapers in 1964 (March I think) after the Melody Maker article entitled 'Would you let your sister go with a Rolling Stone?'. The tabloids followed up with an article entitled, 'Would you let your daughter marry a Rolling Stone?'. Do you know when and which paper(s) published the story?

Thanks

CBC's Larry Zolf asking, would you let your daughter marry a Rolling Stone?

"Would you let your daughter marry a Rolling Stone?" was one of Oldham's early slogans and, in 1963, an outraged nation would have answered shrilly in the negative.
