Does anyone have a copy of Mixed Emotions performed live? This is a favourite Stones tune of mine yet I've never hard a concert version. Would some kind soul help me out?
It's a great studio track, but it's hard to do live on stage. Mick said that also. Anyway, there is the concert from Atlantic 1989, which has Terryfying, Mixed Emotions, Rock And A Hard Place, Undercover Of The Night, Harlem Shuffle, etc... all great stuff!
I don't see why it's so hard for them to perform this one. It just seems like they have pulled off much more difficult tunes live. Although, I'm not in the band so I can't really say
I don't get why this isn't played more often, either. Would add to the credibility of that period of work to keep one of its best songs in the rotation.
Seems to me a lot of the new songs that are performed and quickly shown the door have been mick tunes, ever since the '73 tour, as far as I can tell. "100 Years Ago," "Fingerprint File," even "Heartbreaker" wasn't played too often after its debut tour. But "Mixed Emotions" is very keith-driven... if he doesn't like it anymore? I don't understand what's so hard to pull off.
