He wrote "Rolling With The Stones" a few years ago.
Then there's "Bill Wyman's Blues Odyssey" etc. Check out [www.billwyman.com]

I suppose he will not do Stone Alone vol. 2. in the means of continuing where he stopped the first book. Simply because I don't think he finds the 70's or 80's so interesting anymore to do that sort of day-to-day account of the happenings. Can it be anything but repeating what sort of @#$%& Mick and Keith are? What a socialite Mick is and a junkie Keith is. And both goddamn greedy, and how frustrated Bill was. And perhaps there weren't so many "bed pets" to give an account anymore for Bill...

I think the point of Stone Alone was to remind of the history of the Stones that was almost forgotten at the time of its release: that the Stones once upon time were not JUST the band of Mick and Keith, but of a band that was a tight and unique unit that consisted of five individuals that shook the world all together. And of course, it was a tribute their founder and early leader Brian Jones (and thereby, a kick to Mick and Keith's asses). From 70's on, it was nothing but Mick and Keith's band, and I don't think ever-bitter Bill finds that very fascinating to remember (keeping mind that he didn't contribute very much anymore in the studio and has serious doubts of leaving all the time). Plus that there wasn't anyomore that sort of grand story to tell about how some casual, unknown young british lads conquered the world with their music, and therby, making history. From the 70's on, it was just the question of keeping the position acquired in the 60's.

But Baboon Bro, do ask that from Bill!

Baboon,

I tried that number and got straight through to Bill himself!

He says the Stones should get two decent guitarists or pack it in.

Hi,

Good question! Back in about 1990, Wyman said that Vol 2 would be out shortly, as he didn't want the project to drag on and be 70 years old when the 2nd part was published. Now he's 69 years old!

One of the problems in Stone Alone Vol 2 is that to co-author/ghost writer of Vol. 1, Ray Coleman, has passed away (some years ago, maybe mid-1990s?).
I often wondered if "Rolling With the Stones", "fit the bill" for a volume 2?

There are an awful lot of Stones books out dealing with their carrer in the 1960s, but fewer out documenting the 70s-90s.

One of the most interesting, but also depressing, parts of Volume #1 was when Bill wrote of Keith's herion addiction & Toronto bust in 1977. How, in a Toronoto hotel room after the bust, he and Woody found Keith convulsing on the floor vomiting....they were so scared that he would die, that Bill & Woody went and scored some h. to save Keith's life. (If memory serves, this was in the introduction/preface of the book.)

Another thing to consider for Vol 2 is that Vol 1 didn't sell as expected. Many were dissapointed with Vol 1 , including Keith, in that it was more of a history of Bills bank account during the 1960s.

Still, "Stone Alone 1" is a must have for fans. Its a primary source by a band member.

Within 24 hours or slt. I will post my interview
from Oct 18 with Bill (as have been said before, a real sell-out interview,
but it might contain some fun stuff) thru YouSendIt here.
If I try to to catch him at Gedding Hall or wherever he dwells in
Old England nowadays, it will be at least a half year from now, or even later than that.
