ABB with the new songs added...

Is perfect, IMHO --after "Infamy", tack on "We Don't Wanna Go Home", followed by "Under The Radar", and yeah, you got an EOMS for the 21st century. An 18-song rock n roll suite.

Yes you're right, except I like every song on Exile, on A Bigger Bang I don't really like Streets Of Love and Sweet Neocon. But as an album, yeah... it really rocks!!! 18 songs, yeah!!

Just listened to ABB: It really rocks and cooks and it sounds live!! From beginning to end! Charlie just nailed it again, that beat, the groove... really fantastic!!! I can say now it IS the new Exile, if we want to compare! And that's including the two new songs added to the end (first Don't Wanna Go Home, than the closer Under The Radar!)

Just great!

By the way: Mick says he doesn't like to watch to the past, to go into the vaults. Then why the hell do they still play all those oldies (warhorses) and don't they play the complete A Bigger Bang on stage? Every song on this album is very suited and easy to play live on stage!! It would be a f@#[email protected] great rocking concert!!

ABB is already a great album and would be even better if it had the two new songs on it. They should have put those two on and left off Streets of Love, Infamy and Biggest Mistake.

rough justice
look what the cat dragged in
drivin' too fast
love is strong
you got me rockin'
it won't take long
gunface
under the radar
back of my hand
out of control
we don't wanna go home
dangerous beauty
blinded by rainbows
saint of me
like a rolling stone
oh no not you again
the worst

this is my post-Wyman stones album. 16 fantastic songs in 11 years. Not that bad.

Those two new songs, I really like them!! What I also like about them is that Mick is more in the middle of the mix, not really that upfront, but really between the guitars and drums somewhere... You can imagine them standing there live playing this song. That's so f&%&*...ing great about it!

If you dump "NeoCon" and "Dangerous Beauty" and replace them with the new ones you have the five star album the Stones should have put out to begin with.

Exactly. But for me, Infamy comes close to NeoCon as a replacement candidate.

if i *had* to bump one to make room for one of these, it would be SOL making way for Under the Radar.
We Don't Wanna Go Home is a riot, but i maybe i have an idea why it was left off.
anyway i'll keep all 18, real happily. ~*thank you Stones!*~

".R how can you even think about to replace Dangerous Beauty one of the best songs on ABB?...increadable"

It's essentially the story of Lyndy England, the US soldier who was photographed "torturing" the Iraqi prisoners with dog leashes and so on. Read the lyrics, it's a blow-by-blow account. Every time I hear the song now, I picture that mountain troll.

There. I hope I didn't ruin it for you too.

smile: you didn't ruin it for me, R, since i recognized that in the lyric already.
i don't get why the topic makes the track "replaceable". i find it brilliant.

ditto.

Yeah, "DB" is one of my faves on the album, too, one of the edgier tracks. I like how after all the hoo-hah over "Neo-Con" (intentionally leaked by stones PR?), this one crept in "under the radar," so to speak!

Indeed. The song is great musically (love those guitars!), and it gets extra points for delivering a politically astute message in a much more subtle and clever way than the ham-handed lyrics in Neo Con.

Although I wonder what you all think about how "Dangerous Beauty" joins in the scapegoating of that woman. I mean, when I listen to the song, I sympathize with it, and it serves to vent my anger at that whole situation, but mick should know - and perhaps does - she is only a pawn in the game, and focusing only on her depravity doesn't really address the larger issues.

No, I wouldn't delete ANY of these tracks -- in 70s terms, now we have a double-album of great NEW songs -- 72+ minutes (longer than Exile).

So Now it's time we compile the definitive ABB album and have the thrill of a lifetime and wait for the next album. Meanwhile we go to the shows and have a party of a lifetime!

Sounds great!

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

1. Rough Justice
2. Don't Wanna Go Home
3. It Won't Take Long
4. Back Of My Hand
5. She Saw Me Coming
6. This Place Is Empty
7. Oh No Not You Again
8. Dangerous Beauty
9. Laugh I Nearly Died
10. Look What The Cat Dragged In
11. Driving Too Fast
12. Under The Radar

I find that mix works well. But its just personal preference.

However, I agree we should just leave the album how it is. It's great. It's the way the Stones wanted us to hear the songs.

I see it like bassplayer. Keep all 18 of'em. And make it a double. I wonder if we'd gotten OOOH or one of those today. We'd bee talking about "If you drop "Under the Boardwalk' and replace One More try" with 19th Breakdown", you'd have a great album" .

Hey, cutting "Under the Boardwalk" would still be a good idea! (though it's not on OOOH anyway...)

Hi Glenn

Long time no talkies mate.
I love the new album and will of course buy the deluxe edition when it becomes available - because I'm a sucker I guess.
Haven't heard the two newies yet but am sure I'll like them given the reviews they're getting - esp "Under the radar".

Hope all's well in WV mate.

Peace.

kyle m

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.

You have an e-mail coming.
