I was at the Waldbühne in Berlin in 2014. It was 36 degrees celsius. The Stones was in top form, but I remember the frontman in the warmup act complaining about the heat. A good warmup act by the way, the Temperance Movement. Going to Lyon tomorrow!

No, it was The Temperance Movement opening in Berlin 2014. Sadly the lead singer quit two years ago and no more sign of anything by the band since then. I believe they're History. Very sad.

Hoping that the song vote choices might offer something a bit more risky and challenging, but seems they're set in their ways taking the easiest path.
Oh well, since it's going to be blazing hot probably best to take it as slow and easy as possible for both the fans and the band alike - Angie would be a good choice.

I never cared about the voting. They play what they want, may be they look at the votes for hints, but I think Mick decide on what to sing based on how he is feeling on the day.

Make sure you drink enough water (which should be free of charge at events this large on days with such high temperatures, if you aks me).

BST Hyde Park was very civilised about water: you could bring in either a sealed bottle or an empty one, and there were several refill points so you didn't need to run dry. Given the forecast for Lyon, being stingy about water is a recipe for trouble. Why are big events so fussy about water anyway? Are they afraid they might not sell enough beer?

usually the point is not water but the bottles. Some venues allow water bottles without caps (bottles with caps can be thrown)

Yes, and in that case, the oldest trick in the book is to have extra caps on you.

Yet some venues won't allow any bottles at all, and while they sell bottled water, they will pour it into a cup for you.

Been walking around Lyon, that’s a bit of a climb to the Roman Theatre of Fourviere. An easier walk (if you’re a fan of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, which I am) is to his statue and birthplace in Bellecour square.

Believe it or not I may not go to the show tomorrow as I no longer do well in that kind of heat. I have tickets, but we shall see.. I may simply have a nice dinner and listen to the show on social media

Forecast says 33°C/91°F at 9pm. Maybe it's better to stay in the cool shade during the day and to go to the venue just before the show. Better a good seat would be at risk than your well-being.

Walking aroung Lyon now. It's hot but absolutely beareable. Looking forward to the show. Fortunately we have seats. See you there!

Anybody with an MAKRO READER could hijack the vote.
Am sure Mick decides, but it gives crowd the 'feel good' moment aka placebo effect.
hope to see you tomorrow, i treat every concert as my last, since outliving Keith is not possible so any stones song is a good song...

The FNAC at Bellecour is displaying 10 Stones photos by Claude Gassian, including the uncropped photo that ended up on the Run Rudolph Run cover. There's also an IG-friendly Stones display in the lobby.

Just wandered thru Grand Hotel-Dieu after seeing the Olympic swimming pools alongside the Rhone. Long lunch at la cafe Grand Prefecture. Obligatory drink stops every hour or so! May try FNAC next
