"Honest Man" mp3

Just for fun and to shorten the time of waiting for those who haven't got access to the two "New" songs now (as me, the 'special edition' will be in my sleepy little town not before tuesday... :-( )....

THE song that should /must have been included to "Voodoo Lounge"!

Here we go: "Honest Man" [s5.yousendit.com]

Enjoy!!!

absolutely one of the best Stones songs. WHY did they leave this one off and not even release it as a single?

I guess the Stones knew that and if the tapes from those sessions didn't have shown up, it had been used later!!!

Let's stay on the ground. Honest Man in this form is an unfinished demo of an interesting song idea that for one reason or another, the Stones did not take any further. Suggesting that they should release this unfinished demo version as a single takes it a little bit over the top.

And I'm sure the Stones themselves don't think much of it. Otherwise they would have taken it further, even including it on Voodoo Lounge.

Blue ? No, with Blue it is a completely different thing. Blue is a finished track, not a demo, and what a track it is!!! This is really one of those rare songs that make me wonder why they are not on the album - while other, much weaker songs actually are. Blue is a great, great song.

Blue is about the only Mick solo track I actually enjoy.

Don't thank me, thank the Stones, my swedish friend!

By the way, keep me informed if you're going to visit Germany before christmas - have to buy some wine and beer before! ;-)

I totally disagree with you on this one. Both versions of Honest Man are fully mixed tracks including overdubs. You can't hardly call them unfinished demos!

I think it should have been on Voodoo Lounge. In my opinion it's a lot better than some tracks that did made it on the album.

Don't agree with you. Both versions are not "fully mixed", evidence is that that bass sounds are too low, the bass itself can hardly be located, the guitar volumes go up and down, and Mick's vocals come up and down in the mix, even the lyrics are unfinished. It's a great demo, probably done in Ronnie's home studio, but not a perfect studio production which was meant to go on the album.

And - as a demo - it's @#$%& great. It shows that this song has a great potential.
