"Stray cat blues" is better.

"Sister Morphine" is more interesting than really good. Too whiny in my opinion. Too much Faithfull and Cooder in that track to be a "real" Stones song. Though, as said, interesting. Btw, it was this track which was replaced on the Spanish edition of STICKY FINGERS (alas replaced by the live version of "Let it rock" in stereo).

Stray Cat Blues. I love SM too, I think I've just overplayed it lately though.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Morphinists resp. heroin addicts are all whiny, that's a fact.

So alcos are all whining too?
Why dont you focus on something else, Cn.;

Hell, you cant understand a man till
tou have walked a mile in his shoes.
So, you´re not an addict nature - good for yousmiling smiley!

What about the content in SCB? Who wanna hear a 62 y o

I've got my youngest brother being a heroin addict (meanwhile on methadone) and my oldest being an alcoholic. So don't tell me I don't know. Noone will ever walk in someone elses shoes anyway. But I don't believe in such a thing as the "addict nature". Addicts are people who think the world owes them something. They want more than there is. The thing they really want is love. More love than there is. Since they can't face reality they're starting to take drugs. Other guys flee into religion or food. It's all the same, I guess.

Maybe you´ve been too close.
Distance may also be helpful: and I dont know how or of one can
rank "best friends" or "brothers" as being the best or most useful
experience. Thing is, I have the sh*t in me.
And many many of my former friends are gone. I lived in a suicide centre
of the Suicide Belt for many years. Place is called Sundsvall.
'Addict nature' is just the layman´s attempt to express there are certain
genes among most of the addict people that most others dont have.
We have a difficulty in this chat (maybe time to end it,
or move it to a new thread or in pm:s) to talk on the same wavelength.
You speak about whining & I about the subjective experience of wanting,
needing, musting have something 'I cant be satisfied'...
Probably we mean the same thing.
Well; I think I know what you mean... My friend the drinker
(have lots, but the closest of them). He drinks & drinks for weeks,
and sinks in the deepest of depressions. Finally he pisses himself,
would just lie in bed, drinkin, pissin. That I cannot understand either.
I´m more like black or white. Go to the Other Side. Or just don´t.

Sister Morphine...listen to when that beat picks up...the drumming, the guitars moanfully wailing. The best song about drug addiction ever....by anyone.

i voted for Stray Cat earlier...but i gotta say that the slide geetar in Morphine is beautifully creepy (kinda like Robert Johnson's devil blues) really creates a wicked atmosphere on that tune

Both great songs again... ones I often find myself playing on guitar. But I can't vote confidently for "SM" b/c of all the Marianne/Cooder baggage. "Stray Cat Blues"!

Stray Cat walked away from Sister Morphine bloodied but not broken.

Now the cat's on to the next competitor . . . Parachute Woman

Will she burn one of her 9 lives?

So, . . . Stray Cat Blues? or Parachute Woman
