Frankfurt '73...Gram Parsons?

Just watching the footage of Street Fighting Man from Frankfurt 1973, there's a guy dancing around the back of Keith's speakers (near the end of the song) with a cowboy hat who looks alot like Gram Parsons....Is it him or was he dead by this concert? Or was he in the US ?

Esky

Gram died 11 days before that show so maybe it was his ghost!

It's pro-shot footage from Frankfurt - not sure which show - I'd have to check.
It's widely available on bootleg DVDs that are floating about....
Excellent quality!!

Would be nice if you checked on that one. I don't have any bootleg DVD and would like to pick the right one.
btw - saw both shows that day.

"Street Fighting Man" from Frankfurt was broadcast on BBC's "Old Grey Whistle Test" in October 1973 in a special feature which included an interview with Billy Preston (who was sporting a fantastic Afro for the occasion!)

I was at the second show that fateful night back in the fall of 73.
It was my first Stones concert and I was totally stoned.I was a new fan and not familiar with all of their material. I do remember that during Billy Preston's opening set I saw who looked to be Mick J.,Mick T. and Bill standing behind the stage jumping around and clapping. I was in the first balcony and had a decent view. Once the Stones took the stage I was oblivious to anything happening behind them.I do remember thinking here these guys are getting ready to go on stage again for the second time that evening and instead of chillin backstage they are out there cheering Billy through his opening set.
That memory has stuck with me for all these years

Didnt Taylor play with Preston's band (The God Squad?) on that tour? Or did he just guest on some shows?

open-g I missed your earlier post. Most of my memories are shot from that night. I remember the balcony being like a horseshoe. I pretty sure I was on Mick's right.
Another interesting story for me about that concert is in 1994 I met someone through my job that I have become good friends with and he also attended that concert. He was a drugged out army dude in 1973 and does'nt remember much about that night either. He's not a diehard fan like we are but I talked him and his wife into going to the Columbus show this tour. We went out for a great steak dinner had a $100.00 bottle of wine and as we walked to the arena we smoked a joint and tried to reminence about 73. As for the Columbus show even with the joint and the wine and the beer that followed that show is etched in my memory forever. My friend and his wife were blown away that evening. They have thanked me countless times since.

Mate, it's Newman, Keith's guitar guy. Email me, I have Friday off as well.
