I like this way better than the photo on the regular version--it brings them into the present and it's simple, something you can pick off from across the store.
When I saw the thumbnail of the original on Amazon I was sure it was a plaeholder until they had the real artwork--that photo is the dumbest cover ever for the Stones--I almost embarrassed to take it to the front counter at the store.
I hope the special edition has more going on with the booklet--the original sucked there, too--it's like they called it a day before they even started. I would like to see recording session photos ala Exile as opposed to the goofy posed stuff they've been doing on the last few.
This album deserves a great package--the music is so good!
yeah chas i'm with you. they need a great package to be perfect! the limited edition cover is very similar to the street of love single one. not bad at all, but i mean they can do better than that! and the original booklet is poor!
I must say, I really like it...it's more eye-catching than the original cover artwork. I really like the original cover, but it is just too small for a CD. It would have looked wonderful on a full-sized vinyl cover in, say, 1968. Definitely gets lost, though, on a CD cover.
I was under the impression that the 2 new songs were going to be on the CD as well as on the DVD, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Did I miss something?
The album is supposed to be "back to roots". Check the early Stones albums. The artwork is usually dreadful. As with the ABB book (I like it though. Simplistic).
