Saw this guy, Peter Bruntnell and one of the bands he plays in last night at The Cavern Pub, SW London , and he never mentioned anything about this song.
Just found out this was very recently co-written with Rob Davis, formerly lead guitarist with Mud...........remember them, and he also co-wrote 'Can't get you out of my head', one of Kylie Minogues big hits.
A very well respected song writer I believe.
I think it really reflects what a lot of us feel at times.
This also popped up with Peter in a video.
