My guess is that since the stadium in St Louis isn’t used for anything anymore, they’re probably paying next to nothing to rent the facility and they can move in a week early. They won’t have to bother with a college or pro football team and staff around. The place is basically mothballed.Quote

Why are they opening in St. Louis (a dome), then go to Charlotte (warm climate) in September when at least three cold climates postponed shows could have been scheduled?

Why no New York? The city has had a hugesurge in violentcrime in the last year, but I’m sure the band has body to escort them

I cannot express how disappointed I am that Vancouver was cancelled. Stones haven't played in Western Canada since 2006... I'm disappointed they couldn't hold off and announce it later, if possible, and cancel later if need be.
Do you have any idea what the crime rate is in New York, with the recent rise, compared to say St. Louis, Detroit, or most us cities?Quote

Yeah but Cannada have gone a bit radical in recent times, a bit over the top when it comes to covid, can't say as I'm surprised the Stones saw that venue as too risky, same situation with New York.

Woo hoo!
That's is all.
Keep the noise down!
So that makes it better? New York City crime has skyrocketed.People are being shot in Times Square in broad daylight.Prostitution is brazenly going on the streets of Queens.People are afraid to ride the subways. The parks are open air drug dens..Don’t lecture me about crime.I was a New York prosecutor for over 20 years in the Westchestef County District Attorney’s Office.Soon ICE will be abolished so any non citizen can victimize someone and they will get away with it.Quote

Well if being radical means our death rate per capita is less than half of the US, then I'll stick with our governments (federal and provincial) being radical! Hell, Florida, with 22 million people have had 2.44 million cases and 38480 deaths. Canada, with 38 million people have had 1.43 million cases and 25523 deaths. US overall has 34.2 million cases and 610000 deaths. 9 times the population and 24 times the deaths.

What i m not understanding is, rs.com says tickets will go on pre-sale the 28th with the general sale to follow. How is it that I m seeing several people here buying tickets today?

Vancouver was never going to happen because of the uncertainty of whether the provincial government is going to give the thumbs up, come September.
With that said I will be curious to see how a US tour plays out come this fall.
They obviously feel comfortable going ahead with a tour, despite increasing numbers of COVID cases in the summer.
Maybe they have access to info we don't?

Got an email saying my Lucky Dips for Pittsburgh are still good. Though would much rather have seen them in Buffalo 5 minutes away vs 4 hours.
Booked a hotel walking distance from the stadium in Pittsburgh already. Getting ready for salads with French fries on them and Iron City beer.

tb: Most seats are on sale today. It's only the new venues that are postponed until next week.
Which shows are you considering?

Woohoo!
Now, who can point me to the Opening Acts thread?
Think how wonderful it would be if in their final tours the band went back to showing an interest in who opens for them, and in selecting really deserving performers to give a boost to?
When I was 17 I got to see Stevie Wonder as their opening act. Stevie Wonder! I'm grateful, because I really doubt I ever would have seen him live otherwise.
In tragic contrast, in 2019 in DC we got stuck with a movie industry mogul/boy billionaire's personal vanity project band, that he assembles only when he really wants to buy himself a cool gig and play guitar hero onstage someplace. Once it was to play with Slash. In 2019 he assembled a similar line-up of hired guns, brought the band name back out of dormancy, and bought himself his ultimate fanboy wet dream: to OPEN FOR THE ROLLING STONES.
The whole episode was nauseating. Not that his hired hands were incompetent. They weren't... he could afford to hire talent. But how it all happened. How one rich guy to feed his own ego just up and bought himself a gig that could and should have benefited a real, worthy, working band or performer out there slogging away in such a tough business.
Someone who I know DESERVES such a shot, and who'd also blow the roof off (the roofed venues), is SAMANTHA FISH.
Saw her in October 2019, then again in December 2019. She's crazy talented, plays a rip-roaring set, and should be a big star but needs some visibility. She's won... multiple, I think... blues association Road Warrior awards. After shows meets every fan who wants to meet her. And has great taste. Her favorite blues are wild, North Mississippi blues - RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough. But her desert island disc is Sticky Fingers. And the guitarist she'd most love to meet is Keef.
I don't care for, oh, 95%+ of music videos. But, for the uninitiated, look up Samantha's vid for her single Bulletproof.

psyched for those who can make it! couple of my lucky dip dates won't work now so I'll be putting those in for anyone who wants a heads up!
I also appreciate whoever gave a heads up couple months back on Pittsburgh date, unfortunately I booked for the 3rd and the hotel won't slide me up a day without charging a lot more so, it was a noble attempt and gamble, but my Pittsburgh LDs going into the pot as well

That must be the Stones tour with the shortest notice. Only two months. The sales video has the, by now, typical Stones features - blond teenage models in the front row.
So guys hurry up to claim your tickets before the models do...
