IS THERE A COMPREHENSIVE BOOK OF STONES BOOT REVIEWS?
Date: November 2, 2005 23:25

I may have run across one of these in the past but just now my memory is about as blank as bowl of milk without the Shreddies.

Where do I find it? Online or hardcopy? It seems to me, listening as I am, to the UK portion of the '73 tour, how ON they were.

Alain Digue (known as Doktor Stones) has recently published a book about Stones boots from the beginning till 1973.He's preparing another one covering (I think) the 70's.If he's following this forum perhaps he can tell us how to order his book.

The guy who did the Basement News and Schwarzbuch lives in the same village as I do (Rodgau, Germany). I used to work for an English school that did translations and corrections for him - I believe his name is Dieter Richter or something like that.

Menace, through Basement news you can order the Schwarzbuch (and the Weissbuch too). It is @#$%& huge. They have set it up in Ringbinders. And then theys end you loose pages as updates. It is a pretty involved little setup. BTW through BN you can get several other really cool hardcover files with interesting data.
Then there are the Hot Wax books from Canada. They must be upt to Vol XXX by now. They are very good though.
Nico Zentgraf (I believe) has also put somthing out.
I have meny hardcover boot books but many end early on. They are cool for collector value.
You can always print out your own "book" using the comprehensive files on line.

Dieter Hoffmann

Used to be a subscriber to BN many years ago..it was pretty essential stuff if you want to keep up to date with bootleg reviews. Pity it doesnt seem to have an online edition

Stones boots are not easy to keep track of because in 3 years at most you'll book be out of date again.

Agree reptile. That is why that system Dieter H and BN came up with is pretty good if you are intent on getting serious about it.

The Fingerprint Files website is very interesting.
The only problem is that it needs an update that doesen't come.

Same for the solo section which seems to be dead.

I don't remember the adress of the site but I have it in my International Links section.

Some infos:
Schwartzbuch is up and running, in November vol.6 will be out. Basement News will be back in 2006 with newest issues. The guy that did Fingerprint File sold his collection (I bought myself rarest discs) but he said he is preparing a book on bootlegs as well.
