Impressive list micha063

Would you consider posting your versions of Out of Time & What To Do (both criminally underrated imo, especially the latter which never seems to get any love).

Hello Kevin,
yes, I'd like to post my versions.
But I didn't record any of them yet. I'm about to buy a microphone fir my guitars and then I'start to work on recordings.
It's realy a pleasure to sing these songs and to play the accoustic guitar as compny. It's sometime a challenge to find a way to play the arrangements with one single accoustic. It's so much joy and pleasure.

I do a Country Honk/Far Away Eyes/Sweet Virginia medley. I throw in Little Feat’s Don’t Bogart That Joint just to break it up a bit. Hey, when in G...!

I liked Melody since the very first time I heard it, which was in 1977.
And I have tried to play and sing it since many years... But failed...
Today I tryed it again. And I got into a groove and followed my own way for the very first time.
At least I would play it on the beach and would see how it feels.
The secret for this one was to minimise the whole thing and let my boice go and improvise.
Another one to play and enjoy!

This sounds great as well! It could be a great Party if we, the musicians and Stones Fans could join together and play and sing for hours...

It's a decent amount to pull from and only six are really well known. I did play Salt Of The Earth once but no one knew it so I've not bothered since. Playing the last few songs from an album, if they're not a single, doesn't go over very well. I played Angie once because someone asked a million times but that's just cheating. Staying away from the big classics seems safe because for one thing you won't get sucked in to playing more and if you don't do one and, well, there are plenty of really good songs that are more interesting than going Woo woo for 20 minutes with a bunch of drunks.

Future additions:
Winter
Parachute Woman
Fool To Cry
Monkey Man
Till The Next Goodbye
She's A Rainbow
What To Do

On YouTube check out Justin Guitar. Great lessons, but a friend turned me onto his lessons on Dead Flowers, which are good. Justin noted he played in a Stones tribute band for a number of years so you may find covers of Stones songs by exploring his site. Another person/site to check via YouTube for guitar lessons/assorted songs is Marty Schwartz.

Yes, you can find some guys, who ecplain very well how to play songs or better how they play them. Or how the original is played.
Over the years I tryed to learn and play songs from several artists, I have found a way to try things out and to find out, how the structure of a song is, what is needed to understand a song from its technical point. But then I have to find my very personal way to play it. How do I play and sing it? This is something, that can't be shown in a tutorial. When I started to learn songs, there was no YouTube. May be thats why I do it like this. What happens to me is, that I hear a Cover done by somebody and get inspired to try rhis song as well.
And of course it is great to have the chance to search Youtube for versions of songs etc.
And of course I avoid the Hits. Angie is a song that I never will try to cover or lets say to sing in public. Still I can learn a lot by understanding this song as well.
But never say never...
