Didn't Keith have the humbucker back to its "normal" position/not reversed on the last few tours?

Its actually strange that the humbucker never was reversed from 1972 until at least mid-90's, as far as I can tell from pics of these tours...

Mathijs,

Do you know whether the bucker had been installed backwards in careless error ?... or did somebody decide it sounded better that way ?

I've always been curious about that.

With the screws further away from the body the sound is supposed to be a little brighter, a little less muddy. I never really heard a big difference myself.

Thanks , nor me.

I've also wondered whether any changes in the wiring or pot values have ever been made to better accommodate it .

My understanding is that the wiring is standard modern wiring, nothing fancy.

Reversed from 1989 and then back to "normal" before the south american tour 2016.

Thanks. I didn't know that he reversed the humbuckers on other guitars as well - hence I automatically thought it was Micawber.

So the bucker on its own would likely sound a bit dull...

But not an issue if you're only ever using it to add a bit of warmth & depth in combination with the bridge pup.
