if you folks get a chance,
check out 'dub side of the moon' by the easy star allstars. it is the entire darkside of the moon done in reggae, and shockingly it quite amazing. breathe sounds especially good.

after a brief search i can't seem to find the old IORR posts on start me up never having been recorded. i have heard more than a few times that it was. and the teasing thing is that on Limewire everynow and then there is a file that pops up saying 'start me up reggae' and claims to be from the black and blue outtakes.

There is this embryo of Start Me Up, called Never Stop, that is kind of a reggae song, recorded in 75 in Rotterdam if my memory's correct.
This song is quite easy to find on several bootlegs, the best one being a 2CD digipack of the Tattoo You sessions, which exact name just escapes me.

No that well known version you mention dates from 1977 and is NO Reggae.... The 1975 version was prob. rehearsed but never RECORDED.

i think dic is right, i've got the tattoo yu sessions and there is a version of never stop, from 75 blcck and blue sessions, wich sounds a bit raggae.

The first track on Tattoo Too is the reggea version everybody mentiones, and it's from 1977. Shrimp is right in his judjement that it isn't reggea in the purest sense, it just has a reggea feel.
