What does All The Rage sound like?
Like You Should Have Seen Her Ass with 2020 vocals. And more guitars

Is the word "ass" still used? added 2020 guitars? I can see the Let It Bleed reference...

Not like 1973 obviously, but a lot better than Exile deluxe or Some Girls deluxe. Jagger has improved his singing the last year, strangely enough!

An unfinished Brown Sugar?
Not.....

Very beautiful acoustic and instrumental Doo Doo Doo. Everything is crystal clear soundwise.

Of course not. It was a joke. It's not far from the outtake we already know, except for the reworked singing from Mick.

I haven´t listen to the records yet, so i can´t say anything about the sound quality.
The package and all four records, i´m talking about the 4 LP Set, are looking great.
On the Brussels Affair is no hint that Giles Martin was involved. Stephen Marcussen was listed as Mastering Engineer.
And it´s really, sometimes the pictures don´t lie, a 4 LP SET.....no extras (Book, Poster, whatever...)

The inner sleeve says "Mixed by Bob Clarmountain" and "Mastering Engineer: Stephen Marcussen".
I guess it´s about the vinyl mastering.
Really, they wrote Clarmountain
Maybe a cousin....

Ha, ok....thanks! And of course, mixing and mastering aren't the same so I shouldn't be throwing these words around so loosely anyway. I guess I should look at who the Mastering Engineer is on the Ward release.

As expected. Vocals upfront, bass and drums a bit up (not that much as for that other, lesser known beat band from England). Clearly, Giles Martin approach. But in Coming Down Again that 'PUSHHHSHHHSHH' is definitively not in place.
As usual these days, DR6 average over CD1 with Star, Star at DR5. This is strange, because CDs were mastered by Greg Calbi (who was involved in 1986 CBS re-issue program and his work on Some Girls is very good). Emily Lazar is credited for 2020 mastering too.
PS. New mix sounds clear a bit louder. Not sure I will like this clarity . That muddy feeling of original CSB CD is gone all together with DR.
