I'm on the skeptical side....It reminds me of one of those exaggerated fishing stories. The person who caught the average fish and then goes on to proclaim he captured Moby Dick.

Why would someone after being "Gifted" a piece of art worth "Well over a million" who promised not to tell the press. Betray that?

Some suggestion for Tade ...

Quote

"He showed up at my wedding in Rockaway and sang 'Let’s Dance', 'Modern Love' and 'Young Americans' with the band."

A wedding band band probably would not have known those tunes...
So maybe write that Bowie and the band agreed on a more well-known song.
More believable: "My Girl" or similar number

Some of the hyperbole is especially not believable ...

Quote

"an art collection that dwarfed most museums"

More believable, better line: "an art collection that rivaled many museums"

See what I'm sayin'?

I was at the Concert For New York and to say David's performance was powerful is an understatement for sure! It was stellar, just like him...out of this world!

I agree with you on that.

I call BS. Though no doubt David was a very kind person.

Dates would help out here but the implication that this took place while living in New York with his wife and daughter takes us to 2000 onwards when he had been many years sober and would not have been drinking a $175 bottle of wine. He moved to New York at the same time as getting sober and marrying Iman.
