No band would come come closer to stones,stones are a way life.
Stones are here to stay,all the other bands have faded away,so i will
stick with the stones.

saw macca 2 days in a row ,,weeks ago in philly,, 2 bad he didn't book a 3rd show,,,got into a hoople concert for free back in 71 ,,my friend was a local roadie for the gig ,, he carried those HUGE guitars on the stage 4 them,,it was a great show ,,young dudes was a killer album back then here in the states

If the Stones never existed, I don't think rock music would still be around.

Probably the Beatles, Bowie stuff (Ronson era), Dylan's music is great, but he/his music doesn't have the same sex appeal as the Rolling Stones. I'm obsessed with the Verve's Urban Hymns, although ironically, I always skip over Bittersweet Symphony, besides, they're gone now too. Actually, I love Oasis too. It's hard because even though there's a lot of great music out there, the history just isnt'. I'm not even saying that in the sense that the Beatles, Stones, Dylan started the whole rock era, but in the sense of the band's history. It makes for a good read. The Keith, Anita, Brian thing, Brian's demise, Keith's busts, etc.



Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

the stones history is definitely part of the attraction for me as well...their photographic history alone is GREAT

Leonard if the stones never existed do you think the Dolls and Stooges ever would exist? both of those bands seem heavily influenced by the stones in my opinion. I mean damn just look at David Johanson kind of a mick clone.

good point ket....those other bands might have exitisted in some other form and probably wouldve sounded different

saw 3 Stevie Nicks shows back in june & july ,,great shows ,, i kiss the ground she walks on ,,HA HA,, waddy wacktell did some nice licks ,,like slide on gold dust woman & a rockin rhiannon ,,,the 1st show in philly was with a guy from the eagles & Stevie sang Hotel Calif. with him ..best hotel ca. this dude ever heard

im already obsessed with bob dylan.................the stones are second by a long,long way........or ,as we say around here,a country mile.............

yeah as you say most every day, so if you prefer Dylan by a county mile why do you show up here every day, just trolling?

If the Stones where Himalaya, the next band would be Rocky Mountains.
No one to mention comes near. The rest is Death Valley.

I can't imagine being so obsessed with any other artist/group than the Stones. It's like the Beatles, they simply made people more interested in music. Likewise, without the Stones, I would have been less interested in music.

The Stones isn't only about "music", it's also the attitude, which makes people happy.

I'd be obsessed with the thunder from Down Under - AC/DC!!! Actually, I was before I discovered the Stones! Same with David Bowie. Once the boys came along, Mr. Stardust was replaced!

Probably spend the rest of my life trying to find that double jointed fire eater that I saw doing an act with some gypsy street performers.....Man she was hot!!

I love AC/DC too,but I am not sure they would have ever existed without the Stones, or they would sound completely different. This is true Ket, very true. Okay then, ummmm...Duran Duran? Yeah, that's it! I'd be obsessed with Duran Duran!!! lol

I would not say "obsessed" but Sloan is a good band, they can really "rock" live.

Besides so many older bands and songs, I have bought CD's lately by "Boy" and "Shazam" and "The sexy Magazines" in a search fo something new that is not all over top 40 radio.
They are good but like most new music they sound like a re-hash of songs done before.

There are a bunch of great bands with great original music... Clapton & the Dominoes, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Creedence/Fogerty, the Chili Peppers, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna has songs I can listen to over and over...

But of all the bands that have come down the pike, for creating just FASCINATING music with unique lyrics, etc. etc. I'd have to say... just about the list above, lol.

I didn't see anyone listing the Chili Peppers... well get into this band because they've got so many great songs. Bob Dylan you can just listen to one CD after the other. The Dead, same story. Creedence Chronicle, I'm probably on my 5th copy of that tape. Those are probably my Top 4 that I just NEVER tire of.
