Can't listen to Laugh I Nearly Died

Mick's voice is too irritating on this song.

Many out there really like this song, however I skip it. Too bad because the music is good and it could have been much better.

that was my original take on this as well. I've softened a bit, but do find MJ's vocal to be in that "catastrophically sober" state....

Can you think of anything else that is too irritating?

I can.

For instance: no matter how long you shake it, there'll always be a drop that doesn't fall. Your knickers will have to deal with it after all. Now that's what I call irritating.

Its a little irratating (why does he try to pretend to sing...) at the start, but with this songs you get used to it. I think its the second best track and it should have been the next single, beautyful Stones song.

Is this a whole new interpretation of Rain Fall Down ??

PS Laugh I Nearly Died is the Masterpiece of the album. Can't Stop Listening To It.

There is this book from Daniel Ofman called Core Qualities. It's about your personal qualities and 'allergies'. The allergy of one person can be the core quality for someone else.
Is a challenge to do the same for Stonessongs and Stonesfans.smiling smiley)

For me, it's the one track I play over and over again. I absolutely love it!

No, I like this tune. Reminds me of "Emotional Rescue" or "Worried About You," maybe even "Heaven." Drawn out and dreamy. Has some similarities to "Streets of Love," but without some of the problems of that track.

LIND is great... in my top 4 off the album, with ONNYA, RJ and BOMH.

It's been ages that Mick sounded so real and honest as on LIND.
I adore his vocals on that track.

It's a great song, but Mick does over-do the "oh wo is me" emoting. It's a little too over-the-top and hard to buy, given his rather cold, efficient personality.

Not a knock against Mick, but I suppose most of his heartbreak songs lack what you would consider genuine conviction.

I don't think I could disagree more, WOW I am kind of shocked at that, this song is in my honest opinion is up there with any song they have done, the rest of ABB ranges from good to maybe should have been left off, but this one song to me is special pretty much flawless.

This is the one song I can have in my head all day, and not get tired of it! It's great all over, but also so dramatic because it features Keith and one of his most honest/sincere guitar efforts on the CD. It should be on so many friggin different radio stations here (US) but I can say, I've never heard it, and anticipate never hearing it on the radio!

I'll probably pop it on right now before dinner, and turn my wife onto it. She prefers RFD, "because of the beat."

It is also a good headline for the latest setlist in Florida.

I think that Laugh I Nearly Died is a classic and one of the Jagger's best vocals ever.

for me Jaggers vocals are great, the whole song is great and one of the highlights of the record (though i usually prefer the faster songs)....

the old adage, you can't please all of the people all of the time, seems to hold true.

wonder how many on this board, criticize them for too much duplicating of material. now its criticism for sounding TOO different.

I LIKE IT!
