they're both @#$%& brilliant

'Respectable' was the first Stones single I ever bought - and "Whip" was the b-side

"Whip" is a better song by virtue of the lyrics - and that wonderful few seconds of snare-bashing by Charlie just before the end.

Both good rockers, but the melody they focuse on Respectable nowadays I really don't like that much. But when they don't do that, like on the 78 tour, I find it better than Whip. To play, Whip is much easier to get hold of. Respectable is hard to get right is my experience.

I was so angry that I couldn't be in Atlanta tonight, so I was listening to a few of the 72 boots.........there is one where they play Bye Bye Johnnie B. Goode.............Taylor's guitar is so superb.....he probably pushed Keith to be a better player also. Woodie is a Stone and Taylor is fat as hell.....but he damn sure could play the guitar and he changed the Stone's sound in a positive way.

I don,t buy the idea that wood was the only guitar player in the world that
could play punk with keith and play songs that went against the extended solo.

If you break down EXILE all the guitars were in the background and taylor and
keith's guitar interplay(NOT WEAVING) was fantastic.taylor's guitar did not overkill exile but rather added to the masterpiece.

The chuck berry licks that keith did on carol, little queenie, respectable,
when the whip comes down are all basically the same patterns and taylor was
familiar with the material(REmemeber at a early age of 19 he backed up keith
on carol and little queenie, bye bye jonnie, star star sounds great to me.

I play guitar what is so hard about holding down the rhythm and letting the
other player play a lick or vice a versa. You guys make it sound like keith
invented the rhythm guitar and wood rode HIGH on his shoulders.Don,t give me
the whole masters of feel routine or weaving crap.Any two good guitar players
can sit down and after some time can jam and switch of rhythm to lead.

Its all spin with keith and wood both guitars jammed up at the hip trying to
figure out who played the bum note.

The case here is:

We're not talking about rhythm guitar as it is normally defined, we're talking about unpredictable shifts in interplay between guitars, which is more common for Keith and Ronnie than any other guitar player I've heard (and that ain't few smiling smiley)

I would hope so they have been playing for 30 years together and have had enough
time to do the give and take routine.
